StunnaKrypto

Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Orla Zuniga

It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review

It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.

It is magnificent . I didn't have much hope with it as the lead is not much on my radar but it had Ethan Hawke ( not in leading role , however ) in it so I decided to watch it . it was amazing . beautiful performances on a realistic story . it ain't shiny so you have to be patient for the story to unfold . nice drama . again , not a blockbuster .

I like to watch independent movies, but I also like to watch movies that I like. If you like Woody Allen you will love this movie.I've looked at the clock so many times that I do not remember how many.I do not know what the movie wants to tell me. I do not know if they themselves know they want to tell. I do not know if they clarify in their lives in any sense. It's such a cold movie that I've thought many times that the movie happens to the boy in the cart, is he ever going to walk? I like Julianne Moore, I always like and this time is no less. Everyone else too. I was surprised to see Travis Fimmel, his crazy look is incredible. It has a white photograph like video camera. I do not know why they always think it only takes one script, the other parts are important.Ugly and simple plans, slow direction, do not know that bored.I know that Allen is a movie god, but I do not like him

I used to really dislike Greta Gerwig's style of acting. It's very specific, but for some reason I never took to it. One day my opinion on her completely changed out of nowhere and now I very much enjoy the way she goes about her characters. In this film she is again charming and completely interesting. The film around her isn't great, but it's definitely very solid and it's also strengthened by the amount of talented actors that are helping carry it. Ethan Hawke is great, and Julianne Moore is also really good and really compelling. Overall, it's a decent watch. Not completely memorable but a worthy effort. I do end up recommending it, mostly for the performances.

"I thought I was rescuing him from her." Maggie (Gerwig) is a strong single woman who wants a baby, without the complications of having a man in her life. When she meets John (Hawke) her plans change. He leaves his wife and the two start a life together. 3 years later Maggie begins to rethink her decision and wonders if she can undue her mistake. This is a movie that tried so hard to be be good. It was a different kind of love story that attempted to show the fallout from a whirlwind affair. The problem, to me, was that it was just so slow moving and a little repetitive that it made it hard to stay interested in. There is also one big thing that both helped and hurt the movie; Ethan Hawke. He helped it because he is a very good actor and really plays this part perfect. He hurt the movie because it make me think back to the Before Sunrise series and when compared to those movies this one just isn't near as good. There are some very good aspects to this and it is worth seeing, but really I was a little disappointed. Overall, a movie that could have been really good but it was just missing something to keep it from being a little dull and repetitive. I give this a C+.
