Best movie of this year hands down!
the audience applauded
This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
View MoreGreat example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
View MoreSomeone would probably think "9 stars for that?" HELL YES 9 STARS! It's really hard to find a romantic comedy that stays on its purpose: be romantic and funny. Well, 'My Best Friend's Girl' definitely gets there. The jokes are mostly entertaining(it gets a bit cheesy at times, but who cares), the male characters are very well played and Kate Hudson's character is everything I want a female character to be: strong, funny, hot and adventurous.Spoilers:The ending really got me and it was way smarter than most romantic comedies' endings. Dustin's character was obviously cheesy as a part of the plot, but I was just feeling so sorry for him getting his eyebrows shaved, getting his painted eyebrows messy by the rain and being like his big love's gay, shopping friend that it made me uncomfortable. A lot of scenes were great and worthy, but Tank crying while watching 'Ghost', that was priceless! If you need a light and beautiful romantic comedy, watch it without a doubt.
View MoreI was truly impressed. Yes, this is it. Your funny, cheerful, laughable, cute etc romantic comedy. I didn't know what to expect, but what I got was a great entertainment. My mood was on top afterwards. The story here centers around a talented fancy man with big mouth and fast paced text. The dialogues between him and his best friend and his pseudo girlfriend are very funny. It's really hard to ignore those. Although the screenplay has some holes, the movie is so cool it covers that up.Dane Cook (Tank Turner) is extremely good. I believe he talks just like Tank in real life too. Lots of swearing, but the charisma is there at the same time, so he scores pretty much every time. Kate Hudson (Alexis) is cute as always.Watching this movie, made me think that girls come and go, but it's the best friends who stay. They are there when you need them and they are able to help you. Romantic comedy, eh? Sure, but it has an hidden point.
View MorePlease, somebody tell to miss Hudson read screenplay, before acting in movies. Please, somebody tell to Mr. Cook - go back to bar, and never again try to by a movie actor. Please, somebody tell to Jason Biggs - back to last job, before you start your carrier. Please, Mr. Doitch - stop directing a movies, you are not for this job. Please, somebody tell a screenwriter - before you write something new - read a some books, or better - never again write. Hollywood lose your sense fora a good rom-com. If you, folks, need a good rom-com white black satiric humor, please search a from something different place - maybe a British movies, or from another European country. Escuse my bad English - just this not my birth language.
View MoreGee what a surprise. Bad acting job for Ms. Hudson. Another Hollywood buffoon that would be nowhere near Hollywood, if she did not have a relative in the industry. This movie gets a 2 because it had a creative plot. A little offbeat from normal romance comedies.Thats where it ends. Basically a story about a guy that has his best friend date the girl he is trying to woo , an overly vulgar Dane Cook, thus the hope that nebush Jason Biggs looks like the real prize. Obviously , most of us understand where the plot is going from here.. Like we could not see it coming from a thousand miles away lmao. This film was not funny, badly acted and just seemed like it was thrown together like a Hurricane knocks around debris. This was an uneven film that is on the dubious list of films that just did not need to be made. The soundtrack was great , but nothing else was. Horrible comedy, that just makes those that watched the whole thing look stupid. Save your time folks.
