Stylish but barely mediocre overall
This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
View MoreThe thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
View MoreThis is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
View MoreMan, that was fun.That was still typical romantic comedy. But even with that said, personally, these are really, significantly much more enjoyable to watch- - Yep, I said it; these made-for-TV movies are much more enjoyable than mass commercial movies on silver screens(even those from Disney, Dreamworks, Marvel, DC, Warner Bros., 20 Centruy Fox, etc.), particularly in rewatchable and collectible aspects. I've always said, "While giant commercial movies may have silver screens, big budgets, better effects and/or actors, sometimes the REAL treasures lie in areas that are mostly forgotten, in the low-budget, smaller-scaled, close-knit small movies that are independent or made-for-TV." Dance of the Dead proved me correct, Not Safe for Work proved me correct, countless Lifetime and Hallmark holiday movies proved me correct, and now this movie along with plenty ABC Family proved me correct... again. Maybe I just totally enjoy those close-to-home type, romantic comedy stories, but I just love those really a lot. And there really are a lot of totally comedic-off-the-charts parts in this movie. I mean, I nearly laughed to death watching them. Their make- out part? Man, my downloader software - in a REAL excellent timing - dinged when their hands touched, EXACTLY one second before the kissing starts. And the part when his groomsman told him that ties are just "shoelaces around the neck", he LITERALLY tied his tie shoelace-style. Boy, the volume of my laughs... This is a totally fun movie, recommended for anyone who reads this.
View MoreCoincidentally, I have been currently watching Melissa and Joey on ABC Family, and I love everything about those two! They have an amazing chemistry (that i cannot deny) together, so I was beyond extremely happy to find that they had done a movie together! I can't believe I haven't watched this before!! It was a sweet,cheesy,hilarious, predicable movie and I loved it! I was so close to tears at the end, and I could not have asked for a better ending!! Some dialog here and there could have been much better, but the cuteness that is Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence was all I could see!!
View MoreI watched this movie with my best friend at 2am. We were just flicking back and forth on netflix and decided to put this on. I thought it was going to be another one of those cheesy TV movies, but to my surprise, it wasn't at all. The beginning was a clever start, immediately drawing you in with comedy. Of course it's predictable in story line, but not scenes and obstacles. This movie was one of the best TV movies I have ever seen! Lawrence and Hart have lots of chemistry and it's so hard not to laugh. The rest of the cast work pretty well together, too. Hands down to the comedy and romance and that they actually waited to be together 'til marriage. Awesome movie!
View MoreWe've all seen this plot before, the girl gets a guy to pretend to be her boyfriend and eventually falls for him. But the way this movie portrays it is both refreshing and entertaining. There are no dull moments, with smart humour and just enough chick-flick romance to keep fans of those interested but not so much that everyone else gets tired. Hart and Lawrence are a hilarious duo. Their characters are so much alike in their cynical sense of humour that they keep the scenes moving with witty dialogue. I will admit, the guys Vince owes money to aren't tough enough to be really believable, but then again real gangsters would be slightly disturbing in a light-hearted movie like this. Great watch, too bad it was a made-for-TV, it's much better than many on the big screen.
