ridiculous rating
This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
View MoreOne of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
View MoreThe tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
View MoreI agree that this movie is about sex without any seduction or love. In fact, it makes sex seem so boring and makes me wonder why bother. I actually don't think at all this remotely speaks of how Canadian Indian second generations feel about sex. At any rate, did you know the first hotel/drunk idea was copied from a Korean movie, Yopgijogin gunyo, made in 2001 or thereabouts? That Korean film was actually brilliant as comedy but at the same time compels the audience to reflect on the complexity of man-woman relationships and man-woman difference in experience and thinking. I mean most of the Neal N Nikki hotel/drunk segment was emulated take by take. Can't Bollywood movie makers try to make originals only, please? Seriously, I never enjoyed a Hindi flick that is a copycat. The ones I enjoy have always spoken Indian feelings through Indian cultural means.
View MoreOK, yeah, everyone's going bonkers over how vulgar, raunchy, and immoral this film is, but hey, this is a sex comedy--what can you really expect? Kya Kool Hai Hum was no exception. Please, please leave your brain at home before watching this movie. If you watch this movie seriously, you might get offended. This film is catered 100% to the NRI youth as it deals with a Candian-Indian looking for some action (21 girls in 21 days) before his wedding day. As absurd and shocking as the scenes and characters may seem, they weren't exaggerated. Yash Raj Films never leaves a job half-done and make sure it goes the full way to make a quality film. Neal 'n Nikki is no exception. Photography, music, direction, cinematography, etc. were all top-notch, and of course, the comedy was full-blown and in-your-face! Numerous scenes were hilarious, such as "Teenie & Beenie." This is not your regular Indian formula film. Songs were great, especially "Halla Re" and the ballad. Tanisha did a nice job. Uday Chopra suited his role. The DVD is top quality and has tons of special features!
View MoreWhat a crappy movie! The main character in this movie was supposed to be born and brought up in Canada, yet he had a thicker Indian accent than his parents! Is it just me or does Uday look gay in this movie? Also, do all the chicks in Canada dress like sluts? At least that's how it is in this movie. All the females are dressed like strippers. Don't waste your time with this one! The only good thing about this movie is the setting in beautiful Vancouver. Wonder why Bollywood is going through a slump? It's because of movies like this. I miss the good old' days when Hindi movies were actually entertaining!I couldn't even finish this movie because it was so bad. I think Bollywood needs to stop trying to replicate the style of Hollywood because it's just not working out. They need to stick to their roots because that's what makes Indian movies entertaining.
View MoreYash Chopra movies- the flavoring was long lost. Story - I was not expecting anything fresh. Direction - Refer to the first line. Cinematography - How much can you rely on the background to take you through hours of ruthless time killing!Tanisha is too loud and exaggerated to thicken a weak plot. Uday Chopra is more than just disappointing.Pre-marital sex is an over-talked issue which went looking too naive for the duo to pull it off well. Everything else about the story is too repetitive and too cliché to make any prominent difference to the movie , which starts stumbling in the first few minutes.Songs seem to have been hummed too much. Lyrics are not worth getting tuned. If there is any high point in the movie, may be its just the scenic beauty but then i would rather pay a hefty amount and visit Britain than spend hours watching a sad attempt at romance! The freshness and the feel good effect of the yesteryear Yash Chopra mushy flicks have lost their color and charm in the crowd of new comers expecting the costly sets and the music set up to help them climb the ladders of fame!It doesn't work anymore!
