Wonderful character development!

There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
View MoreThe movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
View MoreIt was a movie I watched and liked very much in the past. I watched the film and, unlike most of it, it was as good as it was back in the day. Also, Jackie Chan is not one of the ordinary action-comedy movies. It was easy to find the fugitives. The scene of the scissors on the bomb stage was so beautiful. I just filled my eyes in the final scene of Filmin and it was over. It was very beautiful too.Filmin music was bad. Criminal characters were bad except for the type, but their characters were well chosen. Series 1667 favorite character was a character that should really be a favorite. It was a nice film, though the quality was not very high, even though the clothes were big.
View MoreThis film obviously was released after what was known as the classic period of Hong Kong Cinema, and though it is an interesting action film, it simply does not come anywhere near the old style of Hong Kong movies. The main gripe that I had (at least with the version that I watched on DVD) was that the movie was dubbed in English, which is quite annoying to watch (though some parts seemed to have been filmed in English). As an action movie it is okay but as a Hong Kong action movie it is simply passed it's prime. It was much more American and in many cases reminded me of Point Break. The movie is about a police officer, Senior Inspector Wing (Jackie Chan, and no connection with Chan's character in the original police story) who goes after a terrorist group and ends up losing all of his men to a series of traps, so as a result resigns and becomes an alcoholic (not a very original beginning). However another police officer comes along and manages to convince him to rejoin the police force and finish off the job that needed to be completed. As mentioned, this movie is similar to Point Break. The movie involves a gang of teenagers that rob banks while wearing masks. Also, they don't do it for the money, but that is where the similarity ends. The main character does not infiltrate the group, and the group are not committing crimes simply for the adrenalin rush, but rather because they have a problem with the police and are going out of their way to make the police suffer. There is a very good reason for this which is explained in the film, but I will not reveal it here just in case some of you actually wish to watch this film. The New Police Story is a movie good on action and gun fights, as well as the trade marked stunts of Jackie Chan (who does all of his own stunts and has the outtakes at the end), but it is hardly original, nor is it anywhere near the classic Hong Kong cinema.
View MoreI watched this movie a couple of days ago and I love it, I haven't watched such an amazing movie in ages. I would really, really advise everyone to watch this, it's another spectacular movie from Jackie Chan and co. I love all the actors and actresses and I think their performances were phenomenal. Everything about the movie convinced me it was real and I think that it took a lot of courage to perform the stunts they did and I really honour them for that! I really haven't got anything bad to say about it, I wish that everyone would watch it and if you are a Jackie Chan fan, then you should definitely watch it and comment too, because it deserves all the credit and gratitude from the fans. I loved to see a lot of my other favourite actors, such as Daniel Wu, Andy On, Hayama Go, Terence Yin, Coco Chiang, and I know they are all of the terrorists or whatever you want to call them, but I know them all and love them all.
View MoreLet's face it, the movie is just bad. Jackie Chan is too old to be doing heavy duty fighting so he is trying his super powers at acting in something more that just bad heavy muscled Europeans trying to kill him and his girlfriend. And he fails miserably. It's not that he actually played very bad, but the script was hideous. There was no comedy, the ideas in it were completely unbelievable and even the fighting kind of sucked. You want to make a great Jackie Chan movie there are three ways to do it: great comedy, great fighting, or something really innovative, like playing a hard cold assassin that uses the Chan style to kill his victims and escape capture. Kind of like an evil Bourne :)Anyway, my daylight dreaming aside, this movie is a waste of time.
