Well Deserved Praise
Intense, gripping, stylish and poignant
A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
View MoreMostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
View MoreThis is a rich little story of that point in youth when you find yourself at a cross road and you aren't ready to decide which way to go. This is where we find Melanie and her friends in the heat of summer (I didn't know Toronto actually got hot in the summer) and the heat is on physically and emotionally for Melanie and friends. Lewis shows up and Melanie goes along with him for the ride and just have fun. Lewis places more into this friendship than Melanie is willing to give - the girl just wants to have fun. Everyone is at the same place and no one wants to make the first move.No Heart Feelings is in the indie mumblecore genre, I would say, and Directors Sarah Lazarovic and Geoff Morrison have created a look and feel to this movie that is both comforting and welcoming. The viewer would like to spend time with this group of twenty something just chilling the summer away. The story mainly revolves around Melanie & Lewis but the other characters are given the chance to shine and all do a great job!For me this is one of those movies you can watch multiple times and always enjoy.
