I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

When I started watching this I did not expect much. However, it became apparent that this movie was more than just a mindless robot movie. The overall story line for it was good and went about building the father son relationship very well. It did not feel force and both Charlie and Max had moments when they hated each other after they got to know each other. The way Max runs up to Charlie at the end while calling him dad was amazing as after all they been through they found a way to be in each other's lives.Moving on to the "no name" underdog who stood a chance against the undefeated king in the Robot fight world was amazing. It was also nice to see that they started at the bottom with Atom and then they slowly make their way into the "big ring" where they take the world by storm. This movie was all about how with the right tools like passion, hard work, and willing to be knock down, no matter how you look or how big you are you can do something that nobody gave you a chance to do. The actors in this movie all gave solid performances and the CGI stood up by 2011 standards and seeing it in 2018 I still think it stands up. Even with the normal underdog formula this movie is able to stand out with the way it goes about delivering this story in a way where you cheer for the starts not only because they are the underdogs but because they have the passion that many pro sports need. Well worth a watch

ROCKY similar story only one big different robots and little things in story line. but its really enjoyable movie to watch really good CGI and good effects but i think its not a lot. yea its cool to watch fighting robots with really good effects but nope. if you like story you must watch ROCKY and not real steel but if you are watching for enjoy its really good movie to waste time. 10/4 - meCharlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) used to be a prizefighter but lost his chance to win a title when heavy, towering robots took over the boxing ring. Now working as a small-time promoter, Charlie pieces together scrap metal into low-end fighters, barely earning enough to make it from one underground venue to the next. After hitting rock bottom, Charlie reluctantly teams with his estranged son, Max (Dakota Goyo), to build and train a championship robot for a last shot at redemption.and now rocky review.Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), a small-time boxer from working- class Philadelphia, is arbitrarily chosen to take on the reigning world heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), when the undefeated fighter's scheduled opponent is injured. While training with feisty former bantamweight contender Mickey Goldmill (Burgess Meredith), Rocky tentatively begins a relationship with Adrian (Talia Shire), the wallflower sister of his meat-packer pal Paulie (Burt Young).that's mini review of film but this two movies have similar ending.
