Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
View MoreI wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
View MoreThis is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
View MoreThere are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
View MoreSAN ANDREAS QUAKE is, unsurprisingly, The Asylum's cheap rip-off version of SAN ANDREAS, with a renegade scientist desperately trying to save her family and convince the authorities when Los Angeles is subjected to a series of colossal earthquakes. It's the usual mess of predictable plotting and some terrible CGI effects as vehicles are caught on collapsing roads and bridges and the like. The acting is as pitiful as the rest of the film and this is very much one of those productions that appears to have been made in a great hurry without any attempt at realism or originality.
View MoreOkay, I watched 19 minutes and already with the first quake I see the biggest nonsense: the guy rescue a girl from inside who immediately simply walks with him, with outside a few people on their knees protecting each other for falling rumble and others just sit relaxed at a pick nick table as if nothing is happening there. A hippo that is totally fake, people who don't acre about others and just go for themselves, I've never seen so many stupid things in just the first part of a movie. Even for the stupid 2,75 I rented it at google-play, I feel like I should have bought a coffee instead. And that in 54 years of my life, I never had it before.
View MoreThis is one of those rare films that is so bad, so horribly, pathetically, indifferently, illogically, stunningly bad, that it actually is good. I already had voted a generous 2 before I read the "goofs" section which details numerous careless, sloppy and inexcusable errors. What the heck! Let it stand. The plot is inane, predictable and unoriginal. The characters are stereotypes carved in sludge and the acting is on a par with that of commercials for a sleazy car lot. Even the special effects --- collapsing buildings, crumbling bridges and plunging elevators --- special DEfects --- appear to have been done on a Commodore 64. Indeed, one wonders if the whole thing is really a very well done and hilarious satire of appallingly bad sci-fi movies. Maybe they should re-issue it as such.
