Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.

After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

Although I always critics this kind of adaptation, because they fail to do it well. I still want to watch it, because as a fan of the original manga I cant help myself from become really interested in this live action version. I love mangaka's second manga, Ao Haru Ride but I don't really like the live action version, you can read my reason in my other review for "Close Range Love" movie, another shojo manga adaptation. In Japan, this is a good trend and sell, they have a ton of awesome manga than can be adapted anytime into a movie, with how movie's technology nowadays even manga like Naruto & One Piece can sure be adapted. When we want to sell a movie, we need to do promotion and everything to attract audience but if you adapt some popular manga, you already have a quite big fanbase from all over the world so their word from mouth to mouth and netizen are enough already to saving some cost for promotion. This movie did really well in Japanese box office as expected because Japanese audience really like this kind of movie. For me, this story is good and interesting, the problem is, the thing that always happen in a lot of manga adaptation, the actor. Usually to attract the fan, they will use some good-looking actor and actress for the counterpart live action role but too bad, they cant really act. So, they fail to deliver some dramatic emotion from the story, everything just become flat and dull, even eye-mo cant save the tearjerking part. What I love is the soundtrack is really catchy, you can enjoy hearing them. Other than that, its still a little bit better from other shojo manga adaptation this year but the acting, really messed this beautiful movie up, a bit. I watch everything except the ending, its too cliché.
