The Battery Trailers View All

In rural Connecticut, baseball players Ben and Mickey are trying to survive a zombie plague. They are forced to form a battery: a catcher and a pitcher who work together to outwit the batter, the one who hits the ball. And the batter in this case just happens to be a zombie. Tough Ben and gentle Mickey frequently disagree on the best way to go about the situation. Then they suddenly hear a human voice through their walkie-talkies. Is salvation nearby, like Mickey thinks, or is Ben’s suspicion justified?

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Just when I was ready to give up on the Zombie Genre as a whole, Jeremy Gardner managed to outclass all of Hollywood and impress me with his take on the Zombie Genre. Even more amazing, he did it on a budget that would barely cover a cast dinner in Hollywood, $6000The movie is very slow which admittedly is painfully slow at times and heavily relies on dialogue so if that's not your thing than you may want to skip this one but if you don't mind or are a fan of excellent script writing and dialogue driven plots, then this movie will one of the best low budget movies you will ever see.The acting is alright but I have to say, Jeremy Gardner who directed and produced, "The Battery", was absolutely phenomenal in his role as Ben. His solo performance along with the great camera work in the last 10 minutes or so will leave you speechless. Watch out for the name Jeremy Gardner in the future. The first half is honestly abysmal in every aspect but the second half is pure greatness and get's better as it goes on until the last 10 minutes or so which is absolute genius. It was the first Movie to make me say "Wow." once the credits rolled in a while.I'd recommend this movie to anyone who likes: Zombies Dialogue driven plots Independent movies Great script writingI would not recommend this movie to anyone who dislikes: Slow plot progression Zombies Buddy films

My friend's dad has been begging me to watch this for awhile, and I honestly don't know why. It was turrible. Slow paced, no action, no plot, no ending, just a big waste of my time. Something sorta kinda interesting happens an hour into it, but that's about it. For a 'zombie' movie, there's hardly any gore. Two baseball players named Ben and Mickey wander around during the apocalypse, scavenging for food and supplies. They talk about random boring stuff, come across a zombie every once in awhile, talk to a girl on the radio, listen to crappy indie music and get stuck in a car. That's literally it! Do yourself a favor and don't watch THE BATTERY!!!

I'm calling it - this is the best zombie movie of all time. Nothing better will ever be made.I like metaphor in the genre, but I think Dawn of the Dead remake is waaay better than the original. And gore is just gore. The secret to this one? It's a buddy road movie that lets character set the scenes. It has problems in the first 20 mins. Too much music - I'm here for a story, not a concert - although I like the music. And the lack of purpose for the characters is irritating. But it settles in beautifully, with really good performances, and the pace keeps ticking over with imaginative shifts. The final location is genius. Just when you thought the climax would be a show down with the Others in their fortress ... nope - just real survivalism in a tight situation.

I really loved this film, and i'm anxiously waiting for the second installment. This is not an action-zombie movie like Resident Evil and all of those. I'ts about the psychological despair, and trying to enjoy the little things. I would say Ben is trying to make the best out of a bad situation, and Michael is just hoping the nightmare is gonna end soon. The interactions between these two feel really genuine, the arguments they have. And when they forgot about all the world going to hell, and just mess around feel natural as well. But you can feel that both of them would rather be stranded in the end of the world with someone more like them self. Micheal makes this really obvious while Ben conceals it.To be honest i don't feel like anything is missing from this movie. You don't have to explain the outbreak, you don't have to show how they got where they are, you don't have to kill 300 zombies with a machine gun for a movie to be entertaining. I like the zombie genre because of all the endless possibilities a situation like that would bring. This is now my favorite zombie flick.
