Brilliant and touching

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

The film is okay for a boring evening. That it comes with Netflix is a clear advantage. Otherwise nothing special. The usual white heterosexual American male. You have all the stereotypes. Girl dies. Who cares? We have to regroup. Boy dies, well, that puts the heroes one step closer to death, because, you know, a boy can fight and be creative and stuff. Who gets them into trouble? Well, the girls. Not that the script is much nicer with the Russians. By the end, I was glad there was no KGB agent. So, in a way, this is a much better script than the 2018 New York Times or over the hill senators playing the Cold War game like their daddies.

Having watched the trailer I was curious to see the movie. But I did not expect it to be good.It seemed silly, and it is, but in the end, I found it to be quite entertaining (B-movie style). The alien idea is outrageous and a lot of the events and characters are outrageous & cheesy. I especially liked the depiction of the Russian guys (hilarious).I'm not sure if the movie was intended as a serious thing or more as a satire, but it does have some WTF & humorous moments, mixed with some pretty sad deaths (some unexpected). They even tried to inject some scientific elements to fight the aliens, a rare thing in that type of movies. The actions of the characters don't make much sense, they act fairly stupidly & mostly survive because of "luck" (also know as "because the story must go forward").The sets & effects were not bad.In summary, as a B-movie, it's entertaining.

For me, its beyond understanding why some people rate such low that it is the invlovement of some sort of hatred is apparent. I watched this film and here is my opinion:Main Idea: 7/10 - not so real but a wonderful and interesting twist.Cinematography: 7/10 - beautiful, and moreover, new places other than we aleady know in a bunch of movies.Acting: 8/10 - perfect character building and never let down expectation.Special effects: 8/10 - amazingDialogue: 6/10 - OKSuspense / Thrill: 7/10 - yeah stick with the edge of seat kinda thing. I rated this film 7/10 as a whole. It is a good movie

Don't get me wrong, the story line was very interesting and something you don't see with every apocalyptic movie. I went into this movie with high expectations set from watching the trailer, only to be somewhat disappointed halfway through. The monsters/aliens whatever you want to call them are extremely intimidating at first, but only in the beginning can you actually feel any sort of terror from these things. Once they are revealed behind their invisible shield, it's almost laughable to see such a bad cgi with the faces. You would think that a movie with such great quality when portraying death scenes would spend a little more time on the aliens themselves. The actors felt too fake, and I found myself scoffing at how many of the main 'group' we see die only because it was so expected. The movie was okay, but I'm not going to bring it down completely because of a few minor things that could of helped it in the long run.I would still watch this movie again, however, I would warn people that the 'hype' from the trailer is not at all like the movie.
