What makes it different from others?
Truly Dreadful Film
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
View MoreA terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
View MoreHow bad could this movie be ? The whole thing from start to finish was like a SNL comedy routine. Being an action movie fan I can accept a great deal of plot holes and unbelievable sequences but jeez there is no way with as many automatic weapons being fired at this dude - no hits ! The ending - as a former life guard I promise she wouldn't be coming back from that one - even with the "heroic" tho incorrect life saving efforts. Skip this one for sure.
View MoreA group of diamond thieves on the run kidnap the wife of a recently discharged marine who goes on a chase through the South Carolinian wilderness to retrieve her. The Marine is the first of the 5 Marine films that are all been produced by WWE it self and so far it's gotta be the worst of them all. First as good as Cena might be as a wrestler he is bad on picking scripts and this film is the perfect example, i mean common how in the hell does this film have Manu Bennett, Robert Patrick and John Cena and it's still a mess? First of all it's boring and slow and 2nd of all it has some dumb humor choices that i can't understand, Cena spends an entire film with a knife and not a single gun and although there are a couple of good moments of action and Patrick is great as the villain, there's nothing more to it than that. It tries to be Commando meets Rambo but it lacks both the tone, the jokes and the action of both of those films and in the end it's a disappointment for sure. (4/10)
View MoreIt kinda funny that i already watched all The Marine movies except the original starring John Cena when other fan says it the best of the series. When it come to the action this movie just as entertaining as you expected to be.The action scene is big and loud,John Cena as a action hero is bad-ass and the most important is the Robert Patrick is way more memorable than those mediocre villain later on in the sequels. The problem is this movie need to be rated-R
View MoreThe Marine (2006): Dir: John Borito / Cast: John Cena, Robert Patrick, Kelly Carlson, Anthony Ray Parker, Abigail Bianca: Stupid action farce about unstoppable power. In this case wrestler John Cena plays a discharged Marine whose wife is kidnapped by criminals in the heat of a shootout . Diamonds were stolen and the trigger happy villains go about making their getaway even less possible. That pretty much sums it up and it resembles countless other action films that are either as bad or worse than this one. Director John Borito does his best using slow motion action and lots of explosions yet nothing remarkable happens. To be fair, Cena has prospects as an action star but his role here is typical search and destroy plus revenge, which will not help him standout in a crowd of other action star wannabees. Robert Patrick has fun as the head villain but his role is hardly interesting. Kelly Carlson as Cena's kidnapped wife is lifeless. She is reduced to a damsel who is slapped around and dragged through a swamp. Other roles are the faceless characters meant to be seen and forgotten soon after. The basic point of this tired charade is to showcase Cena as an action star but in a better script he may possibly excel. This formula has been done to death and even adding Cena cannot add interest. At any rate, he fares better than Kane did in See No Evil. Score: 2 / 10
