Fantastic!

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

A rerun of many of the gags from the television series Police Squad! (1982). An Airplane! (1980)-type spoof, this time with the an incompetent Lieutenant Frank Drebin, who always "gets his man". Visual gags come thick and fast, and it's impossible to catch them all with one viewing. The plot: Queen Elizabeth II of England is coming to town, and Vincent Ludwig has plans to assassinate her using a brainwashed baseball player. If you loved movies like Airplane or just Leslie Nielsen in general 'The Nake Gun' movies are definitely for you, full of laughs and just with lots of action, adventure and gags that was enough for me and definitely enough for alot of viewers and just a great film in general. (A+)

The police procedural, now there's a subgenre that can use a good parody; and "The Naked Gun" is more than happy to offer those services. There's no weak link in this cast, and both Nancy Marchand and Ricardo Montalban ably serve as straight men to the rest of the players. The obvious MVP here is Leslie Nielsen and it's no surprise how he's attained legendary status in this field. As a kid, we used to have HBO in the house for a while, and this was played almost on a loop. Age has done nothing to dull this film's charm; the gags come at you one after the next and some aren't easy to pull off. It's all unbelievably silly, and I mean that in the best way possible. This is one of those rare gems that really brightens your day. 8/10

I saw The Naked Gun before 1994 and even now it is a fine comedy, definitely top class in hilarity. I know, I know, there's the specter of O.J. Simpson, but unless all his scenes should be deleted (would that be breaching the First Amendment perhaps? I'd have to ask a constitutional lawyer), the movie is still a fine comedy. But I can appreciate if this tarnishes the movie.There are so many laugh-out-loud moments, starting from the opening scene where Frank Drebin (Leslie "The Poseidon Adventure" Nielsen) battles the Axis of Evil and then some, even rubbing off the birthmark off Mikhail Gorbachev's head ("I knew it!!!").I heard there may be a reboot of The Naked Gun, and it would be interesting to see who is cast.

What is there to say about this film? Fresh from the days of Police Squad!, Leslie Nielsen stars in this film about a cop named Frank Drebin getting clues about something with the Queen... in a humorous way! However all of this leads up to some antics at a baseball game. His poor friend Nordberg got into an accident, causing him to be injured throughout the film. Leslie Nielsen, outside of Airplane!, is at his gold here. He handles each and every scene oh so well. There was hardly a moment when he made a joke that I didn't laugh at it. And him being a white haired gentlemen that was getting elderly made it even more hilarious. Unfortunately the Queen doesn't play the Queen here. Instead it's Jeannette Charles, who does do a rather good act of her. I loved how she was so stuffy throughout the entire movie, politely waving and being highly disgusted by mild things. Perhaps one of the funniest moments in the entire flick was when Frank ended up taking the role of Enrico Pallazzo and started singing the National Anthem in a grating tone and incorrect lyrics. That scene was absolutely hilarious! But not nearly as hilarious as when the woman was trying to make a speech, and after Frank drank some cups of water he left his microphone on making his peeing audible during the entire thing. All in all, I must say that this was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves comedy movies such as this!
