Perfect cast and a good story
Good , But It Is Overrated By Some
Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
View MoreThis was a very cool film. I like how they stuck to what Chuck was! Anyone remember Rose is Rose? Calvin and Hobbes?
View MoreI have never seen ANYTHING Peanuts related except the occasional comic strip (blasphemy I know ha-ha), but I LOVE this movie! The animation is wonderful, it stays true to the original comic style, while bringing it successfully into 3D animation. The story/characters are very wholesome/entertaining (Everyone has a character moment). Also, this film doesn't ape off previously iconic moments, its a lovely little movie on it's own merits.A must watch!
View MoreIf you are or were a fan, this is a nice throwback to Charlie Brown and the others doing their thing. But even if you never heard of them and this is your first time, this is pretty fun and entertaining. It's not as sophisticated as most Pixar outputs, but not every animated feature has to go that route. You have to have diversity and keeping it "simple" does pay out in this case. And it's not meant in a bad way of course, because the movie does exactly what it says it would do. It's about school, it's about first love, it's about being young and doing stuff you would never do, once you have grown up and it's about relationships in general. It's also about one of the smartest non-talking film dog out there. The animation style may be a put off for some, but it works and should not bother you at all
View MoreWhy-oh-why-oh-why-oh-why did those blasted, tunnel-visioned, short-sighted jerks in Hollywood have to go and tamper with the likes of Charlie Brown (and the rest of the Peanuts Gang)? Eh!? Why?? I guess (like with everything else that Hollywood gets its grubby, little hands on) they just couldn't leave well-enough alone (especially since the lucrative market for merchandising "Peanuts Gang" toys shone brightly in their eyes).I'd certainly say that one of this "kiddie film's" biggest deficits was its 90-minute running time.I mean, this picture's unbelievably predictable story-line could've easily been told in about half that time - But here, with this particular production - So may "filler" scenes were thrown into the mix (for good measure) that, before long, it all became really stale and unbearably tiresome, for the most part.
