From my favorite movies..
The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity

A mother in her 40's gets divorced and hires a guy in his 20's to be her babysitter. They both end up falling in love but the age difference feels like an obstacle for them.A pretty nice romantic comedy. The actors are great and fit well into their roles. There are some great jokes and also a lot of scenes where we can feel their emotions well. The insecurities Sandy feels about her boyfriend being so young are easy to understand. And even though one doesn't want them to break up one sees where she is coming from. But then we also get the beautiful ending that gives one a lot of happiness and hope.
View MoreA rich woman catches her husband cheating and decides to leave their big safe house in the suburbs and move to the city. I guess kicking him out and filing for divorce never dawned on her? So she drags her two kids to the city and moves into super small apartment, before that there are the usually horrible jokes about homeless people. They are not funny and also exploitative. She gets setup on a blind date so she needs a baby sitter for her two precious kids, so why not hire the first person you meet in NY city? The blind date turns out to be Bo duke...yee haw. Of course Bo is a good looking man so they need to make him a dirty disgusting person who would poop in the street and not wash his hands and then try to touch her face and mouth. Christ why even hire Bo duke if you are going to just make him so gross. It wasn't funny and made me wonder why Bo duke would agree to it. He must be desperate for the money. So her blind date fizzles and she goes home to Aram Finklestein the babysitter who is 25 but looks 12 and likes to read Harry Potter books. Aram Finklestein is a name that would just drive the ladies crazy with lust in New York city. To make matters worse, he's really boring, and there is no chemistry between him and Catherine Zeta Jones....but this a Hollywood movie so they have to have some kind of relationship and then breakup. He travels the world for five years, it's never explained how he can afford this, I assume his father is rich and pays for it. So bumming around the world for five years is suppose to make him more adult. Instead of working and paying the bills like everyone else. He also adopts a young child because you know those international adoptions are so easy and a single man adopting a child wouldn't raise any red flags. Sigh.I felt bad for Catherine Zeta-Jones, she's the only one in the film that actually acts. The rest of the cast are basically cardboard. If you are going to make a Rom-Com, make sure it's has some romance and some actual comedy. The movie would gross out most women so it's not a date movie and it's not a family film either. I'm not sure who this movie was intended for, it's insulting in every way.
View More"The rebound" is a movie about a woman who, after her divorce, she moves to New York with her two children. As she struggles to get her life in order, she meets Aram, a younger man who first helps her out as a nanny for her children and then she becomes her boyfriend. But having a relationship with a younger man isn't as easy as it sounds. The theme of the movie is promising but the development of the story is predictable. With no twists and no surprises, it doesn't entertains, even though some parts are funny. The performances aren't good, and the couple have no chemistry at all. So the final result is boring and leaves you unsatisfied. So 2 out of 10, because it wasn't what I expected.
View MoreSo I just spotted this on TV last night and I wanted to watch it because of two things: One I like Catherine Zeta Jones,i've seen her in a few movies from Entrapment,to The Mask Of Zorro, heck she even voiced Marina in Sinbad Legend Of The Seven Seas, and the second reason is that I like romantic movies. So what's this film about well its about a 40 something year old named Sandy(Zeta Jones)who's husband cheated on her with a younger woman(well let's say she was young cause I never seen her face as she was hiding in the kitchen making out with her hubby)and Sandy decides that enough is enough and moves out of her home with her two kids, and they decide to live in an apartment. As Sandy is looking for work and she has nobody to help her mind her kids, she meets a cute guy in his late 20s (played by Justin Barhta whom you may know from movies such as National Treasure and The Hangover as Bradley Cooper's buddy),who helps mind her kids for her,but problems arise when he starts to fall for her and she grows fonder of him too,but with a BIG GAP between them will they ever fall in love??Similar to that 2005 movie Prime with Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep where Thurman was Zeta Jones charcther,The Rebound is not your average romantic comedy,in fact parts of it were kinda flat and pointless, especially that terrible ending which had a what is gonna happen between them now kinda scenario attached to it.But if you are like me never seen it before then check it out. Overall I'm giving it a 4 out of 10.
