SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

Excellent, Without a doubt!!

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

For some years now, Val Kilmer's presence in a movie, especially when he receives top billing, almost guarantees "B" status. But I thought "The Travel(l)er" had a nifty premise, so I decided to give it a chance. And it's not all bad: director Michael Oblowitz establishes some atmosphere in the first half, and most of the acting is decent to good (especially from Dylan Neal). But Kilmer is miscast as a mysterious, powerful, all-knowing character, and some fake-looking extreme gore in the second half spoils the atmosphere. This story would have worked better as a "Twilight Zone" episode - it's too long at 92 minutes. ** out of 4.

While I agree with one other reviewer in the fact that Val Kilmer is an excellent actor, and he can play creepy so well..the movie was lacking for me.It was too predictable. Inside of the first 10 minutes, I was already calling out key points in the plot because you can see where it's going. This could have been a great movie. I would have loved to have seen it well written and with more focus on Val Kilmer.In all, it's worth watching on cable some night if there is nothing else on or you are a huge Kilmer fan. I wouldn't go out of my way to see it personally. Only reason I did was I couldn't find anything else.

This is what happens to actors when they get fat and lazy. They end up in awful movies like this.Remember when Val Kilmner used to be a leading man? I do.Now he's in this bad torture porn that makes little sense. I knew we were in trouble from the first scene when they decide to play the credits over a child murder.The plot is six cops beat a drifter into a coma when they suspect he was the one who killed the daughter of the most senior of them. Oddly, they all happen to be in the police station at the same time when another drifter shows up and confesses to murders that mirror the deaths of these cops.The moral goalposts of this movie are so confused even the actors don't know which way to go, and frankly, it's kind of disturbing to watch Kilmer, who used to do good movies, in this sort of role.A bad sign in this sort of movie is when you are feeling less the suspense, and more the "have we run out of people to kill yet?" Just not a good movie.
