Just so...so bad
How sad is this?

This is the fourth movie I have seen from prolific family filmmaker Craig Clyde. In a few aspects, this is one of his most accomplished efforts. This time around he had a decent budget, which not only allowed him to hire a few name actors, but also with the production values. (This movie looks REALLY nice, from the scenery to the cinematography.) Another nice thing about the movie was that it was somewhat less juvenile than other typical modern day family movies; even the child characters are taking things more seriously than usual. The movie got a rare "G" rating from the MPAA, and there is indeed nothing in the movie I think anyone would find inappropriate for kid viewers. But that also happens to be the problem that ultimately sinks the movie. There is virtually no peril, no tension, no action, or anything else that would give the movie some real compelling drama. As a result, kids will find the movie to be really boring. Their parents will have more patience, but even they will probably wish there was more spark. It doesn't help that the movie also unfolds at a REALLY slow pace. In the end, the movie is only worth a viewing for viewers who want an answer as to why they make so few "G" rated movies nowadays.
View MoreI turned this movie on cable just to see the horses, and even while only half-watching it I was appalled and disgusted by how outright horrible it is. Who paid for this dreck? How desperate were some of these name actors? It NEVER fails to amaze me how they can make movies about horses without KNOWING anything about horses! This "film" takes the term "bad movies" to a whole new level... not one I'm sure I can stand despite the beautiful scenery and horses. I'm not sure what's worse: the inane script, the half-ass and mailed-in acting, or the ham-handed editing. Not even worth it for the animals, and at least THEY can act. Run away. Fast.
View MoreSummary says it all. We wanted to rent a good movie DVD that was about horses for a child and three horse loving adults to watch. It was possibly the worst written, produced and acted movie any of us had ever seen. The bad guys, including Robert Wagner acted their worst. The Wild Black Stallion horse was dark brown and very tame. We laughed all the way through it which made it possible to watch it. I wish it rated a good review but it was so corny we didn't need popcorn. We were expecting something like the Mikey Rooney movie "The Black Stallion" but got a "Mickey Mouse" movie instead. Can't say enough good about the movie "Secretariat" and have urged many friends to rent it.
View MoreSo, I bought this movie right off of Amazon.com because I found out that it had Miranda Cosgrove in it and I just had to have it. I am really glad I did get it because it has a really cute plot and it's just the kind of movie for the whole family. I think that Miranda Cosgrove and Danielle Chuchran make really cute cowgirls. So Cj is this huge know it all about horses and the ranch and she thinks that Hannah is just a dumb city slicker but it turned out that she knew a lot about horses. The main reason I saw this movie is because Miranda Cosgrove was in it and I am just obsessed with her so I watched the movie and fell in love with this movie. Lastly, I really think this movie should be recommendable to anyone looking for a cute movie about cute horses and cute cowgirls getting into mischief, should definitely give The Wild Stallion a chance because it is one cute movie. I give it 10 stars just because there is no option to give it four billion.
