The Worst Film Ever
It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
View MoreAt first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
View MoreYes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
View MoreThe Sorcerer's Apprentice is an action-fantasy about a young boy who goes into an antique shop to get a note but brakes a pot that releases an evil sorcerer. I enjoyed the movie very much and have repeatedly watched the movie which is very hard for me because I start to pick apart the movie which can ruin the movie for me and others, but The Sorcerer's Apprentice just doesn't get boring for me. i think this is a film for all ages to enjoy and watch with the family.
View MoreMaster sorcerer Balthazar Blake must find and train Merlin's descendant to defeat dark sorceress Morgana la Fée. The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a film that i never cared to see until now and honestly after finishing it it really wasn't that bad to begin with, first the good stuff Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel are pretty good and their characters are funny and charming plus pretty cool overall as for Alfred Molina he is good as well and it's great to see him trying an evil role once again since Spider-Man 2 and Teresa Palmer was alright although her character was only used to just become the girlfriend of the main hero as for Monica Bellucci, Toby Kebbell and Omar Benson Miller their characters are kinda useless and even forgettable especially Kebbell, the action and the special effects are quite well done (except the dragon and the minotaur those 2 looked awful). Now for the bad stuff the movie is kinda cheesy at times and although the jokes did make me chuckle and even laugh i think that some were a bit way too much, plus as i already said 2 side characters 2 creatures in general looked awful and the whole girlfriend thing could have been much better but overall i had a great time watching this movie and it's definitely better than some of Cage's most recent films. (8/10)
View MoreLike Season of the Witch, this movie feels a little cursed, for no visible reason. Correction: no visible reason except for an actor from the main cast, Nic Cage. This is one of the few Disney movies that I enjoy. It has a great cast, plot, lore, action, special effects, acting, and musical score. With some good characters, this movie can at times, be very memorable. Parts like the final fight and the Chinatown Sequence, stick into your mind like silly puddy. This movie follows that guy who voices Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragons, as he goes from college loser, to Merlon's successor, known in this film as the "Prime Merlonian". Nicolas Cage as Balthazar Blake, Merlon's apprentice, trains whatever his name. The jealous Horvath, one of Merlon's other apprentices tries to resurrect the evil Morgana le Fey, to end the Prime Merlonian and Balthazar. It has this implacable vibe, that is very cool. Some nods to stuff like Fantasia and One Republic (mainly because their song Secrets was popular when this came out). It's a weird, modern magic film that is far more appealing to me than any Harry Potter film, which is why I give it an 8/10. It's a good film and a good watch.
View Morethere you go i said it when i saw this film it was Nicolas doing same weird acting but with little magic he had that looks and style i thought of doctor strange of marvel comics and this film is a Disney release funny thing is Disney now owns marvel instead of wasting money on this they could have made a doctor strange film it would have been better now its 2014 they are starting to make one i hope its better.one of the many things i hate that always there is a boy and a girl desperate for a kiss why is that is it really necessary to include love story.the plot:Balthazar is a master sorcerer who finds and trains Dave a Merlin Descendant to put an end to evil Morgana Le Fey & Horvath.the cast:as i said Nicolas Cage looks like he was in nostalgic mode and came right out of his own 90s flick Con Air,plus what were Alfred Molina & Monica Bellucci doing here these two are masters in acting didn't they read the script before joining this project,Teressa Palmer & Jay Baruchel are passable.the thing with Disney is that they really bring something best every time specially in animation since last 50 years no one has come close they surpass themselves its about time Disney should be careful and protect there reputation there is a lot of competition came up they keep this up i am afraid they will fade but i pray and hope that wont happen as i am a huge Disney fan myself anyway the point is this script is the weakest ever they worked on the cgi, acting and etc are below average.Overall The Sorcerer's Apprentice 2010 is a one time watch if you are a Disney or Nicolas Cage fan don't expect anything my rating is 4/10.
