The film centers on nerd Maxwell Dweeb (Robert Carradine), who is a loner with no friends. While watching television, he sees an advertisement for the Minnie Mouse Center for the Totally Unhip, named after its owner, Minnie Mouse. Dweeb, in an effort to improve himself, decides to attend. After being welcomed by the director (Suzanne Somers), Dweeb is taken on a tour of the centre, where other Disney characters run various courses: Goofy is a fitness instructor, Donald Duck is a wardrobe manager, and Pluto is a messenger boy. After finally meeting Minnie Mouse, Dweeb is taken on by the director, whom he eventually falls in love with, and dates once he has passed his training. The film is intershot with various musical numbers (including the duet "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Minnie Mouse and Elton John) and excerpts from early Disney shorts.

Such a frustrating disappointment

Charming and brutal

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

I saw this as a little eight-year-old in '88 (which makes me feel a bit old) on NBC. (I know it was NBC, because I didn't see anything on ABC until I was fifteen). I absolutely ADORED it! I wish I could see it again, because it made me so happy as a little girl, and I'm sure it'd bring back so many great memories of my childhood.

My sister and I loved this TV movie when we were little. We taped it off the TV and watched it almost every day until it was accidentally recorded over.It was during the period when all little girls had to be seen in a huge reversible Minnie Mouse sweater and pink leggings. I had forgotten all about it till I heard "I'm So Excited" by the Pointer Sisters and it brought the movie flooding back. This movie really sums up the late 80s when everyone was obsessed with bright colours and shopping for the latest accessories. Minnie Mouse was the ultimate "hip" shopping-obsessed girl for any child under 10!

I had this taped off the TV years ago and somehow it got lost amongst the millions of video tapes I now own. It was my favorite thing to watch when I was little, I loved the Elton John duet and just basically enjoyed the whole thing! The cartoons in between the movie, Minnie in all her lovely outfits! This was a Minnie Mouse for any 80's born girl, an idol who never got given a chance! If anyone remembers this cute little Minnie movie then good for you, cause I'm the only one in my household who does, I'm just glad I've found it online and didn't daydream the whole thing! Hey, if you still have it on tape and hate it, send it to me!! I'd love to see it again, its fun!! hehe! :)

I cant believe other people than me actually remember this. I think it was shown only once on ABC's "The Wonderful World of Disney". With the possible exception of "Oliver & Company", 'Totally Minnie' is the most "obviously made in the 80's" thing Disney has ever done...And it has not aged well. More neon colors, polka dots, and spandex than you ever will see again. Wicked synthesizer-laden soundtrack and lots of classic 80's pop tunes from Janet Jackson to the Pointer Sisters, Plus a special guest appearance by Elton John that must be seen to be believed! Starring Suzanne Somers and Robert Carradine from the infamous Revenge of the Nerds series. Grab your old "Members Only" jacket and headband and enjoy if you can find this rare 80's time capsule of a film somewhere.
