I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

The gore is joyful in its entirety but tragically that is all that this film has going for it. The story is a bit confusing and boring. The acting is fine and there are some funny moments as well as some violent moments. This sadly fails to capture even half the spirit of Peter Jackson's early frolics in black comedy. Impressive considering the roots and background of this but otherwise mildly disappointing.

I remember watching this at DBD a couple of years ago and was surprised that it did not get a cinema release in GB. So I was really looking forward to watching this again. First of all the paranoia has been lost as this is the second time I have seen it. Also I did not like the comedy elements so much this time. The story. Strange meteorites strike the earth, turning people in brain eating zombies. In the typical zombie scenario it is a bunch of misfits against the zombies.I felt that this story had more in common with Return of the living Dead than Romero's classic trilogy. The effects are great as is the acting. I thought the music was terrible and in places the movie really got lost. It could not make up its mind, a zombie movie or a farce? Still it was better and made more sense than the remake of dawn of the dead. Also the acid rain scene was fantastic, plus it was a good idea to get the girls naked!! 7/10

I watched this movie based on the poster picture on the page expecting a cool post apocalyptic zombie tale. Instead you get this movie. I found myself fast forwarding through scenes. while it is interesting to have zombies and aliens, the film never explains the origins of the zombies, why the aliens are here, what they want, and what is with the rain. Also it felt as if it was trying to be too much like Peter Jackson's Dead Alive, which is a much better zombie comedy and movie i recommend. While Undead does contain some funny moments as in Marion's hiding of guns in weird places(armpits? really?) or the sheriff that curses every other word and is so annoying you want him to die, i found myself only actually laughing during one scene after they run over several zombies.I will admit for the low budget of said film the effects were quite good. I recommend Daybreakers if you want to see a Spierig film.

as much as i enjoyed the film, it all seemed like a big joke as the credits rolled. it had a decent cast, a great story, though incoherent at times, and a solid ending. where the film fell short was in it's obvious low budget. low budget is not always a bad thing as it provokes young film makers to be creative, but in this case it appears that more money should have been devoted to CGI. i am not a big fan of CGI but in the film it is pretty good. it could have been better if more of the effects (fires, bullets, and gore)were done the old fashioned way. and 2 things really bothered me and my friends: #1-the protagonist/bruce campbell rip off. his lines were paper thin and his acting was quite good....a bit unbalanced #2-that goddamn jaws soundtrack....how couldn't you notice! having said this the film was pretty funny, even if some humor is a bit dry. the zombies looked quite good as did the aliens, but the film kind of fell apart near the end when the suspense is cut off like a life line. the ending attached to and ending is good, but it makes the last half hour seem unnecessary and you feel a bit cheated. i liked the homages to the evil dead among other classics so 7/10
