Let's be realistic.
Good movie but grossly overrated
It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
View MoreThe film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
View MoreI have seen a truck-load of martial arts films ( all the way from The Big Boss, Enter the Dragon etc) and boy was I thrilled to have seen this film. It kind of reignited the spark for MMA movies that I was missing for a long time. By the time I finished seeing Undisputed 2, I was shocked to find out that Boyka was portrayed by an English actor.....that was the level of enactment he did to bring the stereotypical Russian prisoner we all have in mind.I was absolutely blown away by the tribute montage ( using the song can't be touched by Roy JOnes Jr.) posted on Youtube and knew that I definitely needed to see this.I had gone to the barbershop three times to get the Boyka haircut...which he eventually used as the poster to his shop. This movie is a must watch for martial arts fans and Scott Adkins deserves more meatier roles in the future
View MoreOne of the best things about the Undisputed series is that each sequel gets better, and this is no exception it may be direct to DVD but that means nothing of the quality of the film.Scott Adkins returns As Yuri Boyka, in the series tradition of having the Antagonist of the previous film becoming the Protagonist of the next, this film turns Boyka from a Fighter who just wants to prove he's the best, to one who wants to redeem himself and prove he's worth something. In the secondary role is Mykel Shannon Jenkins As turbo, and whilst unlike the previous films in which the second billed is the villain, Turbo has his own story which is well crafted and sympathetic, and it's implied he was framed and wants out of prison so he can see his kids again. The film gets rid of Big named actors and uses Actors who know how to fight and don't require stunt men for the action sequences, the fight scenes are beautifully choreographed with some of the best stunt work put to film and each of the actors knows what they're doing, as each fighter uses a different fighting style for diversity.if you're sick of poor and fake fighting in films I would highly recommend this masterpiece.
View Morecant say i am very impressed with undisputed 3.it is like those 100s of badly directed Hollywood MMA action films. Now we know in such films , acting is not really a prerequisite but even by those std, there was some serious bad acting and silly dialogs throughout the film. The climax is super-cheesy .I really cringed at that moment where there is a bad animation shown for a fracture of the villains leg. wont recommend this film! The Chinese ,korean and Thailand's are still the best in action genre.Hollywood will continue to be a wannabe just like MMA is a wannabe Muay Thai.
View MoreAlthough I didn't like the first movie, after watching part 2 I thought this franchise might have potential. Yuri Boyka(Scott Adkins) who was the main villain in the second movie is back and this time he is the main character. Unlike the previous movie, this time it's more like a tournament where bunch of convicts must fight each other in the ring and be the winner in order to get freedom. The losers are however eliminated from the tournament. I really liked how Yuri Boyka's amazing fighting skills and choreography is more explored in this one. In fact this movie sort of does make Boyka seem like the most complete fighter in the world. People who seen the previous Undisputed movies know that this franchise is about fighting and you will get good amounts of it and pretty good ones at that. So if you want action you will most definitely get satisfying amounts of it in this one. For a B-movie most people won't be expecting much from it, I wasn't expecting much either but got almost all I wanted out of this type of movie. For anyone who is into fighting movies should check this one out. If there is ever a 4th installment, I will most definitely make sure to see it.6.9/10
