Too much of everything
Just so...so bad

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
View More(10.24.93)Live from New Orleans, LouisianaAttendance: 6,000We open with an incredibly cheesy segment of a group of young trick or treaters heading into Tony Schiavone's house. It turns out, Tony Schiavone is a werewolf.Harlem Heat & The Equalizer Vs The Shockmaster, Ice Train & Charlie NorrisThe Shockmaster is better known as Typhoon. The Shockmaster's team wins after The Shockmaster pins Booker T. This opener was the pits. With all due respect to Booker T, you'd be hard pressed to find 4 worse guys to have a six man tag with.*"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff (W/The Assassin) Vs Ricky "The Dragon" SteamboatOrndorff wins by countout after The Masked Assassin interferes. Lame ending aside, this is actually a pretty good match! I've read some reviews online for this show and nobody seems to give this match any love. Both busted their asses and mixed brawling with wrestling. I enjoyed it thoroughly.***1/2Television Championship"Lord" Steven Regal (C) (W/Sir William) Vs Davey Boy Smith (The British Bulldog)They wrestle to a time limit draw. The Bulldog seemed to have him pinned with a piledriver just before time expired. This match was somewhat dull. It picked up near the end, but it was too little too late by then. *3/4Vader comes out to spin the wheel. It lands on a Texas Death Match so Vader will face Cactus in a Texas Death Match.United States Championship"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes (C) Vs "Stunning" Steve AustinAustin wins the title after pinning Rhodes with his feet on the ropes. HOWEVER, the referee sees it after all, and the match continues. Rhodes immediately rolls up Austin from behind and retains the title. An irate Austin waffles Rhodes with the title and busts him open. I get the feeling these two are capable of MUCH more. They had flashes of brilliance during the match mixed with moments of boredom. I'd love to see what they can do with a little more consistency.**1/4Tag Team ChampionshipMarcus Bagwell & Too Cold Scorpio (C) (W/Teddy Long) Vs The Nasty Boys (W/Missy Hyatt)Scorpio has the match won but Saggs nails Scorpio behind the ref's back with his boot to win the tag team titles. I had very little interest in this match, but it surprised me a little bit. The success is mainly due to the talent of Bagwell and Scorpio.**1/2Sid Vicious (W/Col. Rob Parker) Vs StingThe winner is the franchise of WCW. Sting wins after Col. Parker accidentally costs Sid the match. Sid would accost Parker after the match, but nothing comes of it. This match was a little disappointing. Sid is capable of having good matches when he wants to and Sting is always solid in the ring. I felt Sid relied too much on basic rest holds here and Sting didn't deliver enough offense.*3/4World Heavyweight Championship"Ravishing" Rick Rude (C) Vs Ric Flair (W/Fifi the Maid)I'll explain this as best I can. Rick Rude tries to nail Flair with brass knuckles, but Flair blocks it. The referee gets knocked out, enabling outside referee, Terry Taylor to officiate the match. Flair waffles Rude with his brass knuckles, but the referee (NOT Taylor) is up and sees the whole thing, and disqualifies This match wasn't horrible or anything, just very underwhelming. They just didn't click at all. The only really cool thing about this match was Flair hitting the Rude Awakening on Rude.**1/4Texas Death MatchBig Van Vader (W/Harley Race) Vs Cactus JackThe rules are as followed1. No Disqualification2. Pinfalls don't count. They can pin each other but you can't win the match that way.3. :30 second rest period between falls4. Falls count anywhere in the building.5. The match continues until one man can't reach the 10 count.Harley Race shocks Cactus in the leg with a stun gun to zap him, and he can't make the 10 count. Vader wins. Both men, especially Cactus, took some sick bumps in this one. I wouldn't call it a great match but if you wanna see two guys beat the crap out of each other, this definitely does the job.***1/46.5/10 ranking overall
