Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
View MoreOne of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
View MoreSomething about the trailer told me it would be campy schlock so I went in with zero expectations. I was surprised when it turned out to be a mostly well-planned, decent film with amusing, yet clearly disposable characters. It was ok cast except for having people clearly in their late twenties and thirties playing fourteen-year-olds. Overall not a waste of time if you enjoy suspense, a very flawed main character, and Ryan Philippe. I don't understand why you couldn't have put together some focus groups, PRC censorship reps, and applied for a grant to have this marketed in China. You'd have had to change the ending because time travel in Chinese theatres is no bueno but the ending was hackneyed anyway.
View MoreThis movie brings us back to the nineties' horror movie like scream, I know what you did last summer, final destination... It's a teen movie, it's fun and effective. I had a nice time and it felt good.
View MoreI thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The acting was good, story was entertaining, kept me engaged throughout. Not like most modern jump scare horrors, more of a story based movie.
View MoreHere's The Lowedown on "Wish Upon" (PG-13 - 2017 - US)...You dig on multiverse?Genre: Horror/Paranormal My Score: 5.8Cast=7 Acting=6 Plot=8 Ending=7 Story=4 Scare=4 Jump=3 F/X=7 Creep=7 Twist=5A teen girl discovers a magical box that will grant her seven wishes. As she uses her wishes for personal gain, bad things begin to happen to those around her."When the music ends, the blood price is paid." If you see this, one thing will pop into your mind..."Final Destination". I was anticipating the death scenes and they were pretty good...if only they had a little more imagination. This is one of those films that really needed to be rated R to make it a lot scarier. Throw in something out of "The Craft" and you have a movie with very little originality. It's not a bad watch...I just can't give it much more than a meh.
