I gave it 5 stars, because it's been a long time since I saw a good German movie again. The Germans, what a war and a wall have given them to write about! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I actually cried when the Berlin Wall came down.

Would rather be convicted of treason and die than stay in East Germany, because freedom is more valuable than life. Thank the kindergarten teachers for knowing right from wrong and not killing everyone.

And yet another real story! The atmosphere is very tense. Whether it is digging tunnels, crossing canals, flying hot air balloons or helplily climbing barbed wire, it is the courage and pursuit of a Homo sapiens to break free from the cage and love freedom.
