Bailey
"I can't remember who I want to be." This line points to the theme; People wallow in the society, values slowly collapse, the direction of life with chance swing, lost themselves, hurt themselves, but also hurt others; Terrence Malick has a strong sense of emptiness in his work. Full of stream-of-consciousness, the film has almost abandoned narrative, showing the mood rather than the story.

Bale continues Sean Penn and Javier Bardem's "I haven't read the script" routine, strumming throughout. Hell of a life! How can you make him so happy and so miserable? ! The final iteration of malick's Magic Stick trilogy. One hundred thousand times by the net friend "what airplane" bomb screen by composition. But I don't know why, look at him so willful - let a bunch of actors full of drama into a state of sleepwalking. I don't resent it.

Malick overplayed the game this time, and the form was much bigger than the content. The story he told in the first ten minutes was exactly the same as that in the last one hour and fifty minutes, which was like an extended video installation. Compared with "To the Wonder", it had a clear narrative and multiple themes. Still, it's so beautiful to see horse hand-held photography on the big screen.
