This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

This series grabbed me at the beginning (season 1) but my interest waned. I made it through season 2 enjoying it, but must say that the writing for season 3 was superb. I love the way the main plot line has pivoted each season and especially liked the finale of season 3. It piqued such interest for me in what season 4 will hold. The acting is excellent too! WELL DONE.

A former student recommended Billions to me back in Season 1, and though I have a rather strict policy of not watching shows until a second season is ordered and shooting (to avoid disappointment), I watched and was hooked. For what it's worth, I worked on Wall Street and then later in financial services and wrote my thesis on carried interest. That said, this is not a brain trust show - you needn't have any experience with the Street to watch, any more than you needed to have worked in the Executive branch to watch West Wing or been an attorney to enjoy Suits. The first season was the best written, as is often the case, but the twists and turns in the second, and especially the third seasons more than make up for a little editorial slackness. Giamatti is fantastic. Damian Lewis is very good - better than he was in Homeland but still his performance seems a little forced. The characters and their relationships are the cornerstone of the show - Wags and Axe, Axe and Wendy, Wendy and all of the quirky worker-bees at Axe, etc. It is an excellent binge watch, so wait until the season is over, watch all 12 eps, and then cancel Showtime (nothing else is worth the price). Billions is guilty-pleasure at its best.

I loved this show from S1E1 but wasn't a fan of the Ax/Chuck war. I found the last episode of S1 hilarious, specifically the scene where two actors are circling one another.Despite guffawing through S1 and being disappointed with Paul Giametti's character (too silly and overblown, not much exploration of what motivates his quest - no fault at all of Giametti), I was hooked on the flash, and Damien Lewis' ability to ground the show with substance among so much style.S3 is far better than S1 and 2, mostly because the writing is so much better, specifically the dialogue. Can't spoil anything so I'll mention in code: the TW dialogue, and JM's character's story and revelation, among many others. Plus the stories and characters overall are better, more complex.I hope we don't lose any of this in S4, and I'd like to see the Bryan Connerty character more involved in the story.

Amazing acting, cinematography and most of all the writing. Keeps you wanting to watch the next episode till the end. If you gave it a bad rating is just because you don't understand it.
