A different way of telling a story

Dominion really is different. You might even call it flat out bizarre at certain points. As one who initially mistook it for another tacky zombie-ridden flesh crawler, it is now slightly difficult to explain why I still find the series "BRILLIANT" so long after cancellation. Stunning special effects and stunt work helped, to be sure. However, in time, I realized (at least for myself) that this alone wasn't what drew me in. Supernatural, controversial, graphic, dark... pick any aspect you wish. For me, this was all superseded by an incredible cast and all-too- human themes of love, hate, heartbreak, hope, and the battle for survival. If you started out, as I did, and found Dominion to be "bloody," "distasteful," or even irreverent, I will not disagree with that assessment. Very simply, I urge you to watch a few episodes again. Perhaps then, you'll understand how a former hater is now a loyal fan hoping that this unusual apocalyptic drama is soon revived. I would LOVE to see more of EVERY story line!
View MoreThis TV series has all qualities I appreciate :Characters depicted in depth (men and women), evolving over episodes, facing situations that push them into their entrenchments and bring out the best or the worst of themselves. There are love stories between these characters but not only, there are also difficult father-son relationships, and enemy-friends brothers relationship.Original story : angels fighting against or beside the humans, a young lonely orphaned man learning gradually to become the chosen one who will save mankindActors of great quality, some of them already known and other new talents we discoveredProductors and actors sharing behind the scenes pictures with viewers, tweeting with fans, and still today after TV series was stoppedFans worldwide keeping supporting the TV series after it was stopped on a cliffhanger (without reason) and supporting the actors in their new projects.Dominion is amazing, one of a kind, and deserves a continuation, season 3 and more.
View MoreDominion is unlike any TV shows I watch, namely because it doesn't have that slow burn format that a lot of shows with this genre usually goes for. I mean, this is a show about angels & the chosen one. Sounds cliché right? You're wrong. So wrong on so many levels. My initial thought upon watching is were - great another post apocalyptic dystopian future where humanity is at its worst + zombie-demon like creature. Boring! And then orgy - you don't have any new ways to attract viewers? But I persevere and was rewarded with the knowledge of a certain chosen one who has yet to be revealed. Another roadblock - I bet the chosen will only be revealed at the end of the season at least for a memorable cliffhanger. This show is getting on my nerves. But when the angel spread his wings & killed the 8ball, and the chosen one revealed instantly at the end of the episode I know I'm getting into something good. The writing style is very fast & in your face, I don't think the writers like filler stories and surprisingly I like that. The story is tight-knit & compact, with a few loose ends (nothing major) and leads to a very good cliffhanger for season 2.Season 2 has proved itself as the best season yet. The writings has gone leaps & bounds from season 1, it does not skip on quality and viewers were given more insight into the characters so they could empathize with them a little bit more. The character development has been gradually increasing with a good pacing & executed with well written dialogue. I never appreciated good dialogue more after watching Dominion! The acting is strong & brilliantly played. Everything is emoted out perfectly with ease by the actors. I find myself time & time again rooting for the bad guys (and respecting their strategy) so I can see what shenanigans they will leash upon the their poor unsuspecting victims. That has never happen to me before! In short Dominion is worth your time, it's entertaining without diminishing the quality. It's well written with a sharp wit. And it has depth without being too pretentious. All of this has been done in the perfect harmony of acting, cinematography, story lines, plot twist & original score that will make you want for more. Goon give Dominion a chance. It will grow on you.
View MoreI found the show randomly. Started watching them even before i knew it was the sequel of the film Legion. Then I watched Legion before watching the second episode. Lot better than Legion in technical terms, not in story. Dominion(TV series) deserves a lot than it actually deserved. Done a great job with limited resources. Can't expect everyone to have the budget like game of thrones. A very good effort even with limited resources. I hope it will run long time, as i saw many shows grow with time. Take supernatural for example. If you see the first two seasons of supernatural the did seem to be above normal but over time they could make 10 seasons of 23 episodes each. Really a mind bobbling effort by them. Mind you they did not lose the culture in time viz., the Impala, the relationship between brothers, Angel Castiel and many such things made them to stick together. Similarly I hope it grows into something big and will not lose its core values in mean time.P.S. Sorry to makers of dominion to compare with Supernatural, I felt better if i compared them.
