Wonderfully offbeat film!

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The synopsis given for this re-imagined version of the original is a bit laughable. The new MacGyver requires a whole back up team. They should have just given the role to George Eads, as his character at least embodies the sense of action and fun that the original show had. I suspect some bean counter thought he was too old for the role, but that just goes to show that they didn't understand what made the original show so great. The new MacGyver has more angst than brains. And I can't help but notice that in the photo they are using, they put Eads in front of the title character. That's pretty telling.

I've just read it has been renewed for a third series! THREE series of this rubbish?! WHY?! There was a brilliant series called Wildcats that for some unknown reason only lasted one series. It generally got great reviews and great ratings from everywhere yet it was cancelled after one series. This crap has now got a third series!!!! HOW!!!! I have just struggled through three episodes and am left wondering where the heart, the soul, the love, the feel of fun and enjoyment has gone to! The original MacGyver had all of that in massive doses this version has the exact opposites (in even bigger doses if it is at all possible)!There is not one likeable character, the storylines are ludicrous, and the dialogue feel very much like it is contrived! The only good parts of each episode are the closing credits!! If they are wanting viewing figures then they should re-run the original series!

Just saw 5 minutes of an episode and by god it was awful, was season 2 apisode 18, zapping through the channels saw they were about to just by the flick on a laptop shut down the engines of a plane and by wonder it dropped out of the sky as a brick, really? Engines shut down it will act as a giant glider and all instruments won't be gone as a plane does have a RAM, which allows basic functions. This is just so lame it ain't fipunny, original Macgyver was so much better growing up with it.

I have read some sad comments that are still stuck in the past, These people that comment have no sense of art, no passion for the new instead they are "remember berries" )You remember? Yeah I remember Yeah yeah I remember I want to share all I remember) "South Park References" This Macgyver is not like the original but it does have someone in modern day trying to protect our nation interest, Also the old Macgyver was not realistic as far as people with AK47's and faced with a platoon of trained killers, It is foolish to compare with the old which always used close up cameras where you did not see everything around you instead your closterfobic the whole way through the show. The new Macgyver has a multitude of wide open lens and alot more background actors that actually do something.Season 2 episode 23 really was an emotional killer when Macgyver quit the Phoenix foundation finding out his dad was always there but never reached out. Another thing I noticed that The names they use was close to Night Rider and also other shows, Like some kind of secret easter eggs I can not figure out.Now the Negative! They should of made Macgyver father "Richard Dean Anderson" which is the original actor of Macgyver, if he would of came in this show could of made more sense and then we all could of had some closure instead they used some other actor which breaks my heart had nothing to do with the show.
