    Good movie but grossly overrated

A waste of 90 minutes of my life

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

At 18, I grew up on the classic cartoons such as Scooby Doo, Wacky Races and Yogi Bear and I still do. I first came across Scooby's All-Star Laff-a-Lympics going through a Scooby Doo phase and after one episode I was hooked. The animation was surprisingly good, it was crisp, clean and smooth, and the music was great. The theme tune is simple in some ways but definitely memorable and not annoying. The writing is witty and hilarious, and while every episode derives from the admittedly terrific concept it was great to see how The Really Rottens resorted to cheating, who won each race(I found myself rooting for the Scooby Doobies) and what sort of things they did. The real joys were the characters though. Snagglepuss is a great commentator, I love his voice and his dialogue, and Mumbly's exasperated mumbles and facial expressions when the Really Rottens lost or were caught cheating are priceless. I also loved seeing Scooby, Captain Caveman, Yogi Bear and Dread Baron(who looks very like Dick Dastardly). The voice acting was also solid, I especially liked Mel Blanc's Captain Caveman, then again I may be biased as I love Mel Blanc. Overall, a great show from my childhood, and had a terrific concept. 10/10 Bethany Cox

Hanna-Barbera never fails to entertain me. In this cartoon we have a variety of Hanna- Barbera cartoon characters competing in triple team olympic games and each week would have 2 different locations, one location in the first half and the other in the second half. The three teams were The Scooby Doobies (which consisted of many mystery solving or crime fighter Hanna-Barbera characters and lead by none other than Scooby-Doo, of course), The Yogi Yahooeys (which consisted of a lot of the earlier Hanna-Barbera characters and lead by Yogi Bear, of course) and The Really Rottens (which were mostly bad guy characters). The only thing that annoys me with this show is that for the Rottens team that they decided to put in Dread Baron and Mumbly instead of Dick Dastardly and Muttley, i mean why use their cheap resemblers instead of the real characters? Plus why is Mumbly on the Rottens team when he is supposed to be a good guy? Personally I would've put in Dick Dastardly and Muttley as the captain for the Rottens team not Dread Baron and Mumbly. This also one other thing that I would've changed about the show and that would be that there are a few Hanna- Barbera characters that were left out that I felt should've been included. Here the characters that were not in this show that I think should've been included and what team they could've been on as well and they are:* Scrappy-Doo (could be on The Scooby Team, of course) * Lippy The Lion & Hardy Har Har (could be on The Yogi Team) * Touche Turtle & Dum-Dum (could be on The Yogi Team) * Horseface Harry (he's Quick Draw's evil twin, could be on The Rottens Team)* Secret Squirrel (he could be captain of a new team called The Secret Squirrelers)* Magilla Gorilla (The Secret Squirrelers) * Punkin Puss & Mushmouse (The Secret Squirrelers) * Breezly & Sneezly (The Secret Squirrelers) * Peter Potamus (The Secret Squirrelers) * Yippee, Yappee & Yahooey (The Secret Squirrelers)* Ricochet Rabbit and Droop-A-Long (The Secret Squirrelers) * Atom Ant (The Secret Squirrelers) * Squiddly Diddly (The Secret Squirrelers) * Paw Rugg & Shagg Rugg (from The Hillbilly Bears, The Secret Squirrelers) * Top Cat (could be a reporter with Snagglepuss & Mildew) * Space Ghost, Jan & Jace (could be on The Scooby Team) * Zorak (could be on The Rottens Team) * Yellow Pinky (a bad guy from Secret Squirrel, could be on The Rottens Team)But other than that it was good cartoon, Hanna-Barbera is the best.

The biggest gathering imaginable was back in 1977 and 1978. ALl ABC needed on Saturday mornings were three variety shows, the Krofft Super Show, the SuperFriends, and this variety series. I never saw it as Scooby's All Star Laff a Lympics in its first year, but I heard the lineup consisted episodes of Scooby Doo and Dynomutt as well as 2 new shows, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angles. I don't think this series ran by itself on Saturday mornings, but it was fun to watch. The Laff a Lympics was probably the biggest draw. A huge all star cast of Hanna Barbera favorites. The Yogi Yahooeys, the Scooby Doobies and the Really Rottens competing in competitions around the world. Snagglepuss and Mildew Wolf were hosts of this series. The Yogis team consisted of the cartoon cartoon characters from the 60's. I always rooted for the Scooby's team because Blue Falcon and Dynomutt were on this team plus this was the team of comedy adventure characters. I'd say with the exception of Mumbly I'm betting the rest of the Really Rottens were made up for this show.I never saw this series back in 1977, but I do remember seeing it when it was Scooby's All Stars in 1978. It consisted of the newer Scooby Doo episodes along with the Laff a Lympics and Captain Caveman shorts. I miss this format and I'm hoping that WB will consider releasing the latter shorts, Laff a Lympics and Captain Caveman. Laff a Lympics is a series not to be missed. I love it whenever Mumbly grumbles after losing to the Scoobys and Yogis. WB needs to release this series on DVD.

This was a super show when I was a kid. A+ It featured all the cartoon characters from Yogi Bear and Scooby-Doo to Fred Flintstone and Captain Caveman! Each week the characters, which were divided into 3 teams, competed in Olympic-type events. I loved this show!
