I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

    Admirable film.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

I only watch the show because Im a big fan of Ray Liotta. Once I started watching I was hooked. My husband and I watch or record each episode and we enjoy it very much.

For me JLO like an entertainer in total is great, but when i was watching TV shows and ran into this series and saw it JLO to play in this i thought it was another crap like CSI clone or similar ,and just made a move on on my remote. And how I made a mistake. This is the top of the series, maybe the closest thing that is in reality of life, the struggle between good and evil is never clean, nor is it border between ever clean.

Shades of Blue is by far the best show on TV. Each and every week this show keeps you on the edge of your seat. The actors and writers all deserve awards. I love, love this show and can't wait for the next episode. The season finale was shocking and amazing. I DVD it every week, so that I can watch it a second time. Great show and I hope this show has a very long run.

This show is wrought with police show clichés, stiff acting, and poor, shallow character development. From the beginning, Shades of Blue tries very hard to make every moment of the show tense. In doing so, it ignores any sort of real character development, leaving you with strained, tense situations featuring characters you don't really care about. Jennifer Lopez has a daughter. Ray Liotta is a longtime veteran. They're both crooked cops and liars. They've worked together for a while and have some mysterious personal connection. These are essentially the only core traits of these characters. That's it. There's a cat and mouse game going on between them, but since they're cardboard cut-outs, everything that happens just feels like a waste. Just get to the part where they realize they can't trust each other. All of the secondary characters exist, seemingly, to add minutes to each program. The rookie cop unjustly shoots a guy in the first few minutes, but because the show immediately dumps the viewer into tension and turmoil, there's no build up and you're left feeling nothing for this guy. The only reason anything happens in this universe is to attempt to prop up the two main characters. The rookie shoots the guy so that J-Lo can react, and so that Liotta can react to that. There's no reason to buy in to these characters. The production falls flat as well. Shades of Blue eschews some of the grittiness of, like, The Shield, and instead goes for a clean look and shuttles in the occasional artsy camera angle (shooting characters through mirrors, etc). It feels inauthentic. There's also music, which detracts from most scenes. A pivotal moment of the show feels a whole lot less important with Frank Ocean's voice narrating it at obnoxiously changing volumes. The look and feel of the show often feel like overcompensating for the Swiss cheese plot and the vanilla characters. This show just isn't worth your time.
