Survivors Audience Reviews

Inclubabu Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
Brooklynn There's a more than satisfactory amount of boom-boom in the movie's trim running time.
mummychic12 When I first started Survivors I didn't quite know what to expect...other than the overplayed theme of deadly disease which has been done over and over again. What I found was surprisingly fresh and even though the story seemed to have been unoriginal at the outset, there were actually quite a few twists and turns that made this become quite a good show. Which of course makes it disappointing that it ends after episode 12 on a pretty huge cliffhanger, but that seems to be the way of good shows not given enough time to bloom unfortunately. The character development (my favorite thing in the world) is solid, and what is sad is that when it ended we were just seeing them come into their own. The group is made up of an end of the world Breakfast Club of sorts...you have the convict, the playboy, the kid, the princess, the mother, the doctor, and the brains. They all have their highs and lows and watching them interact is fun to watch. As a side note which the 8 year old in me feels compelled to conclude, Phillip Rhys as the playboy Al is a welcome sight for anyone wondering whatever happened to the adorable Proto Zoa after Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century, and he appears to be doing just fine.Without giving too much away, I will say that this show is worth a watch despite its short life, and it has its moments that will stay with you after it ends.
Inaka Blues I've been patronizing IMDb for a while now and I love reading user reviews, though I never posted anything myself. Until I watched Survivors. Oh wow, where do I begin? I love Post Apocalyptic movies and TV series and I decided to give this one a try. I went in with an open mind but 10 minutes into the 1st episode of season 1 I found myself shaking my head in disgust: The acting is terrible, plots are predictable, dialogue laughable (in a very bad way) and the group of survivors is so incredibly stupid, it's a wonder they survived the virus in the first place. Darwin is spinning in his grave. The premise of every episode is the same: a moronic survivor decides to wander off by him/herself without telling the others (WHY???) and we, the viewer, have to watch a whole hour of survivors trying to find the wanderer. Sometimes two or three survivors go missing simultaneously!!!! They constantly sleep without keeping watch, they leave weapons behind, they don't set up roadblocks and decide to stop by the side of the road where the bad guys are more likely to catch them unawares. Despite the U.K being a military superpower, there aren't any military weapons to be found: Bad guys terrorize the whole country with nothing but a double barrel hunting rifle and baseball bats. I think I even saw a javelin once. Un-be-lie-va-ble.I had hoped season 2 would be better, because, well, 2 years went by and surely, the writers of this mindless drivel had wizened up and redeemed themselves by writing better plots and smarter characters but... Season 2 was even worse. I'd rather sit through 6 hours of dental root canal work than watch this TV series ever again. If I could give it minus 100 stars I would. It wasn't all bad, though. I watched the entire series because I'm a sucker for punishment and also because I wrote down all the stuff not to do during a post-apocalyptic setting. Then I tried jumping off a bridge. Please save some time and some brain cells and watch something else. Thank you
Gary Amedee I just can't overstate how badly this series is written. The characters are just ridiculous. The only thing they do consistently is make stupid decisions. I don't want to sound harsh but what is the point of making a post apocalyptic survival story about a group of morons who are constantly giving us reason not to care whether they survive or not? Who gets around in a post viral apocalypse world unarmed? No one is who. Every twist in the plot so far, in my viewing, has been structured around the group doing something really stupid. The first ep sets up what could have been a great story but then it slides into idiocy. This show seems to be written like a teen novel. My experience with Terry Nation was limited to Old Dr.Who episodes and I wish I had kept it that way. All this show will do is annoy you.
cindsmith It has been a while since I was 'addicted' to a TV series. I am just a little sad it has had so few episodes and I now have to wait till next year! The cast is well suited and the plot is interesting and exciting. This is a must see if you were a fan of the original series as it follows along the same lines ie biological wipeout of most of the worlds population and the few remaining people left to come up with ways to survive. The fact that it has wiped out the world in 2008 instead of the 1970's means it has a more modern look but all the qualities that made the original so good are still there. It is also nice to see a lead actress that is a real person and not a glamourpuss!!!! (one of my favourite things about British TV!)
