It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

My husband and I thought this was refreshing, fun, well-acted and well-written. I was totally surprised to find this so wonderful. I am woman-of-a-certain-age white suburbanite female and this was just purely appealing and delightful. So great to be set in Detroit too -- I like that perspective. And to those reviewers who didn't get the point of this -- I say there was once a very successful comedy about nothing . . . called Seinfeld. Amazon -- please tell us when we are going to get more of The Climb !!!!

"The Climb" is an American 27-minute comedy short film from this year (2017) that was ordered by Amazon and could be turned into a recurring series if enough people like/watch it. I kinda doubt it though. But first things first: The director here is Chris Robinson and the script and story are by Diarra Kilpatrick, who also plays the central character: an African-American woman who is kind of an online celebrity, an "influencer" (God how I hate that word) and we find out about her aspirations to make it bg while dealing with her best friend, with men and with life in general. There was not one moment where I cared for her at all. I think that her acting really wasn't on a level where it justifies being the lead in a recurring series or film. The actress playing her friend wasn't any better. I guess she was included to make this more appealing to White Americans because basically everybody else is Black. This is potentially another show that is about comedy most of all, but it also has its more dramatic moments. These seem to be en vogue these days. However, this one here is an example of how not to do it. It isn't funny, it isn't relevant whatsoever, it is very shallow and the characters were rather unlikable for me. It's pretty tough to say something positive here for me. Maybe some of the supporting actors did an okay job or it just seemed that way as they weren't as bad as the two ladies in the lead. I doubt this gets picked up, but if it does I most certainly won't continue watching unless they really improve things, but there's so much wrong with this one here that I don't think it's possible. They may say this is one for women or for Blacks to watch, but I say this is only one for those with bad taste in movies. Highly not recommended. If you want a better climb, go for the Miley Cyrus song instead.

Finally a beautiful black female lead! Amazon where has this been! This show is funny smart and unapologetically black. Diarra Kilpatrick is a knock-out and that Misty is hilarious. The costume design is literally my dream closet and the original music kills it. I honestly can't wait for a full season of this. 12/10

The Climb is about..... I wish I had an answer. A lady who wants to become something I guess. The pilot was a big steaming pile of not-so-funny incoherent actingscrement, uninteresting dialogue that really doesn't say or contribute to the story, some semi-funny 'puns' and of course some light racial humor, because that is 'hip' these days.Normally I don't really rush to judge but this was a veeeeeeeeery poor scrip, the acting so-so, the characters not interesting and very very flat.It seems more and more content is needed, and thus more and more rubbish like this is needed. If you look for a silly simple comedy I would advise 'This isn't working'.
