The Flash Audience Reviews

Reptileenbu Did you people see the same film I saw?
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
trekmann01 Recently I have been watching this series on DVD. Reason being that back in the day when it was being aired I didn't have cable. And trying to watch it via broadcast airwaves was next to impossible. That being said I was really excited when it became available on DVD. Upon viewing this series although good, it seems for lack of a better word, a bit campy. With almost every scene having some kind of artwork in the back ground and the odd use of old style cars mixed in with modern cars of the day. It kind of didn't set an accurate time line for the series. However seeing it now with actors and actresses I recognize makes me go "Wow, that's so and so". The suit was awesomely done and the acting was A1. For being filmed in the 90's it's too bad that it wasn't given the chance of at least one more season. So I'm looking forward to seeing a movie on this super hero character adding to the long list of other super hero movies. Hopefully it will be here in a Flash.
ebiros2 Barry, a police crime lab scientist turns into super hero with ability to move at fantastic speeds after a lab accident. He uses this ability to fight crime as his alter ego the Flash.Good TV series with much use of computer graphics for its time, although the graphics are strictly limited to ones on the computer screen. Special effects are pretty good, and Flash character looks pretty real. This was before the times of CG and things could have been rendered lot better with CG on some scenes, but for live costume action, this might be as good as it can get.The bad guys looked little ridiculous in many cases, and the failure of the series might have been in that Flash didn't have a worthy opponent to make his adventure really worth its while. He seemed little too "mortal" to be a super hero in many occasions as well.Tine McGee was great as Flash's cohort in crime fighting. The series and the movie would have been better if Flash had more worthy opponents. Maybe in the Justice League, Flash will shine again, fighting worthier foes.
Theacadian74-1 The Flash was a great series and I'm sure it would've really hit its stride in its second season, if it would've HAD a second season. It wasn't given a fair chance. I loved that show but, like others have on this forum have said, it was bounced around the TV schedule like a rubber ball, and often preempted because of the Gulf War, which took precedence on the airwaves. The acting was great, the special effects were quite good for the time, and the episodes were quite entertaining. I own on the complete series on DVD now that it's available on DVD and I really enjoy watching episodes. I wonder if it will become a sort of cult classic....Or maybe it is already?
carlblong If you're going to have a show populated entirely by one-dimensional characters (at best), and spoken in overused clichés, I suppose the only way to do it is to for the cast not to act.I saw the episode that came with the Smallville DVD, and struggled to get through it. I thought it would be a fun evening, sitting back and watching the series based on the movie of 1990. I own the movie. I enjoy it. It has the right level of campiness. But this episode of the series tried, like so many products of the late '80s/early '90s, to tackle issues such as homelessness and genetic engineering. And, like most of these products, it came across as jumping on board the cliché bandwagon. On top of that, characters spout lines comic books wouldn't print, with no emotion or sense of what they were saying. Perhaps I can't fault the cast; they had nothing to work with.At least it drags on.
