I was browsing Tumblr one day and stumbled upon some .Gifs and i thought to myself I have to check this show out. I then proceeded to watch every Episode on Youtube in a four day period.Seriously it blows my mind that Disney America did not pick this up to air like they did the first two seasons of Naturally, Sadie and Life W/ Derek.This show is really something else. The writing is Fantastic. The cast has amazing chemistry. I'm so fond of the friendship of Amanda and Wilder and how that developed into a relationship and subsequent of them ending up together. The ride isn't easy but you can tell they both love the other very much.The show is way more than the "three main guys ended up in Degrassi" show. This show is way better than Degrassi. The Latest Buzz is up there in my book with the Disney classics "Phil of the Future", "Kim Possible", and "Even Stevens" among others. And is up there with the newest Nickelodeon show "How To Rock".When a creator decides he want's to make a Teen sitcom. They should really take a look at The Latest Buzz for how to make a great Teen Sitcom.I'm just sorry i stumbled on the show two years after it ended. Better late then never. And Amanda and Wilder are firmly on my greatest relationships of all time list!

Now first, let me just say that I am usually quite easy to please when it comes to television, and even if a show is just barely funny enough to make me giggle a time or two, I'll probably say that I'll like it.But The Latest Buzz? Is just another messy, slapped-together disastrous attempt at a sitcom.The premise: The Latest Buzz is a show about a group of teenagers who work on a struggling magazine called Teen BUZZ. They apparently replaced some other workers in favor of real teens. While this is unrealistic in itself, I'll let it slide -- I mean, it's a TV show. In the real world, Superman wouldn't fly.I honestly believe that the show would be much better if it lacked a laugh track. The laughs feels tacked-on and uses the same laughs over and over, even more so than other, usually Disney sitcoms (Zack and Cody -- both of their shows -- and Waverly Place come to mind here). The Latest Buzz would have a Zoey 101 feel and would not feel so idiotically 'PLEASE LAUGH UPROARIOUSLY AT THAT LITTLE QUIP I JUST MADE' if it ditched the laugh track. Unfortunately, it's much too late to turn back now.Onto the characters. Every single one of them has a specific, forced and stereotypical personality. The happy, intelligent one, the celebrity-stalking, fashion-obsessed, 'I'm obviously gay but have to hide it because this is a show aimed at kids with conservative soccer moms!' one, the 'rebel' (and I'm being generous in using that term), the stuck-up, rich Veronica Lodge type, and last but not least, the unrealistic gamer. Again, forcedforcedforced. If the characters were the least bit relatable, I'd probably like this show more. But no. All the characters cater to the people of the respective stereotypes in a desperate attempt to draw all kinds to the show, but they have no character for the rest of us -- the 'none of the above' character. Where's THAT one?And don't get me started on the acting. During one foodfight scene that was apparently supposed to be angry, I remember seeing the girls laughing. Normally I'd pull the 'they're just kids' card, but they're not kids -- they're teenagers, whom of which are creatures blessed with the ability of keeping a stony expression typically reserved for lying to parents. As of such, they're probably capable at pulling a straight face for a minute or so. I've seen toddlers that could act better than this crew. (Also, the girl who plays Amanda needs to stop forcing her lines and trying so hard.)I really don't have much to build my review off of, as this show is like eating jalapeños -- better in small doses and being unable to tolerate too much at once. I only watched a whole episode once -- and I had to force myself to -- and the plot itself was quite generic and much too predictable. Also, the sad attempts at weaving romance into the already-messy plot lines just made me facepalm quite a bit. To sum it all up: this show is a mess. Sloppy writing, unrelatable characters, bad acting -- this show is the mulligan's stew of all bad sitcoms and I wouldn't recommend it at all for those older than 13 or so. 2/10.

I couldn't believe they would show such a substandard "comedy" on Disney channel. To summarize the serial in three simple points; 1) Pathetic acting! 2) God awful script. 3) Where is the laughter coming form???! (I think there is no audience, just prerecorded laughter, the timing of which is plain 'awful') If you want to check your endurance..... then go ahead try to sit through an episode, you will know what the buzz is all about!! At first glance it hit me like a remake of 'Lizzie McGuire' with all the classic characters, but boy was I wrong!! I wanted to give this a rating of 0 but IMDb wont let me... :)

This show is very welcome in our home! I have watched this with my kids on several occasions and we all enjoy it immensely! I personally believe that there is a lot of great Canadian work, and this is certainly among what I enjoy. For those fellow Canadians that grew up enjoying Mr. Dressup, the homage to him through "Ernie Coombs High School" was great to see. We found the characters were an interesting cross section of individuals. the interplay between these characters from all walks of life will give rise to many interesting conflicts, I am sure. We are particularly interested in seeing the development of the characters of the teacher and the editor. They serve as interesting and contrasting support for the kids. This is a great show for kids, clearly written from their perspective. Mr. Piaskoski has done a wonderful job, and is a great example of what Canadian work can achieve.
