Masterful Movie
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
View MoreThrough painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
View MoreCause this show is awesome.Bert Raccoon lives in evergreen forest, a peaceful, beautiful place full of life. but when he awakes, things change...bigtime. he has a lot of friends, which is good, because without them, he could never deal with Cyril sneer, the Miserable, ugly-looking arsehole whose only want is to make big bucks, even if it means destroying the evergreen forest. This show goes on the list of Canada's Greatest creations. Also on this list is Trailer park boys, Mr. Dressup, Hockey night in Canada and The Red green show. but i like to think of the raccoons as near the top, because i never actually watched this show in the 80s, because i was never Around in the 80s. i remember watching it through the 90s and loving it.But there's one ultimate thing that makes The raccoons so enjoyable...Lisa Lougheed. That girl is hot, sings like an angel, dances better than Paula Abdul, and needs to make waves in the entertainment world today.Bottom line, you need to tune into the raccoons any chance you get.9/10
View MoreThis was a series with great voices, great music, great animation and great stories. In short, a wonderful classic cartoon. My favourite characters were Bert and Cyril, probably because they got the most development (although all the characters changed a bit over time). It's unfortunate that its DVD release seems to have stopped, but on the bright side, it'll probably be shown again in Canada when Teletoon starts its own Retro channel in spring 2007. And right now it's showing on Boomerang in the UK.The general opinion is that it went down a bit in quality towards the end, but even those episodes are still very enjoyable. The earlier, first season, and specials, were more exciting because they focused more on the raccoons fighting against Cyril Sneer's industrialism, rather than on the characters' moral dilemmas and social problems like the later ones. The music and animation was also better in the early ones.BTW, just to clarify, it was actually an English-Canadian cartoon, not French-Canadian.
View MoreThe Raccoons and The Muppet Babies are the two best cartoon shows of the '80s, and there were a lot of great cartoons back then! I love this show because it's not some 30-minute toy commercial; it's a quality cartoon with great characters, great songs, and great plots. Like any fan of this show, I love Bert. He's just so courageous and his antics always give me a laugh. Cyril Sneer may come off selfish and mean, but he's really a very nice guy, especially with his son Cedric. And the songs in this show are some of the best songs ever made for a cartoon; they always fit in nicely with the plot and had that classic new wave sound to it (something that The Muppet Babies also have). So, if you can find it, give this show a good watch. You'll love it!Rating: 11/10
View MoreThis show should be noted for his songs. His theme song is the best I have ever heard and each episode had clasical '80s songs. The plot's may be a little silly but they oftenly have good points that work in real life too.My favorite star of this show is Cyril Sneer. In one episode we find out he left his home when he was young and has spend most of his life trying to build his fortune. He's grown to be a harsh, stingy man but still has a soft time.He even seems to be a humanitarian sometimes, when he isn't running a money making plan.He is intelligent and a quite complicated person. This show learned to me that there are no villains and heroes, just persons with different shapes of grey.Recomended.
