If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

A story that's too fascinating to pass by...

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

Nora Madani (Christina Ochoa) is a ground breaking female co-pilot flying the latest stealth helicopters with Captain Gallo as part of the elite special ops Shadow Raiders unit operating out of Army base Fort Dabney, GA. A secret mission in Somali goes badly. The duo escapes back to America leaving behind her friend Jimmy Kam and Sergeant Hendrix who are captured by the insurgents. She is under stress after uncovering a secret about the mission and killing one of the special ops man. Jimmy's wife Jess is her best friend. She is dating intelligence officer Ian Porter who has a powerful Congresswoman mother. Thea from OGA (other Government Agency) arrives to organize the operation to retrieve their imprisoned colleagues. Nora faces mounting pressure from her and Gallo's lies about the mission and a mysterious conspiracy. This could have been a solid military show from CW to counterbalance its diet of DC comic book show. At this point, they may as well go full on DC. There's nothing wrong with that especially if their other genres are made as badly as this. This should be a simple military action show. There is the expected romantic melodrama. At least, they don't sleaze it up too badly. It's the convoluted plot about a mysterious cabal that finally sinks it. The plotting is a mess. Ochoa is a sexy actress with not necessarily the most wide ranging acting. She is functional but she can't drag this dead mess around by herself. This is a lower level class of the recent crop of military shows on network TV.

Valor is seriously the best Military Drama out right now. It has good actors, really good interwoven civilian and Higher Agencies (CIA) themes/overtones. It has well-thought out characters, that actually have depth to them. The issue of Rape & Assault that occurs in the Military is addressed in a few Episodes. Valor also brings awareness to the Mental Illnesses (PTSD) associated with Combat, and other various Combat induced Mental Health issues that Soldiers have to face and deal with on a day-to-day basis. This show is highly Under-rated, and deserves a re-visit to see that, Valor pays homage to our Armed Forces, the Air Force, and to all the brave Men and Women who have or is serving our country, and protecting our people. Vote for Season 2

Reading all the reviews makes me think what the heck! So he has a beard, and his hair touches his collar, so freaking what!! I love the character of Gallo!! When I watch medical shows I could pick out soooo many mistakes, but I don't, just try to watch the show and remember it's TV, entertainment! It's not going to be 100% accurate!

The script, acting and well, just everything is so unbelievable... and I'm someone that can suspend reality for a good romance.... but man, this is just terrible. Don't waste your time. I recommend searching for Our Girl - a fantastic BBC show that they have withheld from us here in the US, but thankfully some kind peopleput it online. It's worth the time searching for it. Skip Valor, and find Our Girl... you won't regret it.
