Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.
A Disappointing Continuation
n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
View MoreThere are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
View MoreI would recommend everybody who really like B5 to buy this DVD and watch everything including all the supplementary materials which are real fun. This movie doesn't have fancy stuff inside like the Shadow War, but has a nice plot and interesting ideas, I really enjoyed it much more than the everything else that was made after the original B5(I mean the Crusade, legend of the rangers etc). There are two short stories none of the two have much action, the first one is very much in the style of the short stories in the old B5, like the those episodes that goes far from the main plot line of the series. This one is really good, I liked it. The second film I liked less, but it has more visual effects than the first one and is more like the Crusade, but unlike the Crusade it has some deep and complicated psychology inside, which to my opinion was really lacking in the Crusade. The only bad thing that it comes to an end very fast and then you start thinking of watching the whole B5 again :) Then DO watch the Extras, they are really good!!!! Enjoy!
View MoreThere's really nothing important to see here. There's a BS tale about religion, and then Sheridan "saves" Earth by making a crunchy-chewy decision about what to do with a member of Centauri royal court...yawn... There's only a few of the "main" characters from the original series and the "Crusade" series (which I still miss BTW) in it. A whole lot of other characters are mentioned in the dialog, but they are never seen. I guess some of the original cast are even dead at this point. It's not even an hour and half long for cripes sake! This is definitely a pass in my book...don't waste your time!! I ordered it on PPV and was very disappointed...it wasn't even worth the four bucks that I paid for it...
View MoreThis really is a very good example of a dead horse being flogged. I am a big fan of Babylon 5, looking on it as an example of one of the best TV shows ever made, but this really is just an insult to its memory and one of the most blatant attempts to cash in on a franchise. First off, (spoiler alert, sort of) whilst its touching that they comment on the death of Andreus Katsulas, it ruins the continuity of the universe to have G Kar dead and Londo alive, being that they both supposedly kill each other. It seems odd to go for two episodes rather than a movie type format, but both episodes are sub par and predictable (the second story being worse than some of the worst episodes of series 1). However some of the acting, particularly from the Centauri Prince, saves this by the numbers story from utter failure. Tracey Scoggings, however, reprising her role as the eminently discardable Lochley is even more woeful in this than she was in series 5, but then I guess she isn't getting many offers for work nowadays. The first story is, again, saved to some extent by some fantastic acting from the possessed guy (look, I cant be bothered to look up his name!) but again it kind of contradicts B5 mythology, that of the Vorlons, actually being the human "god" I could go on, but really, I have already put more effort into this "review" than was put into that production. Avoid.
View MoreIf you're a B5 fan, you will really enjoy this! It's obvious that JMS had a budget, but I think he did a great job with it. Lochley's story was really great new territory for the series and brought up some great points about religion in this world and even had a really cool revelation about it. Sheridan's story set up a potentially great new character in Prince Vintari and set up a dilemma for Sheridan that was very well done. It was also cool to see Sheridan and Galen interact. If I had any complaints it was the music. I couldn't believe it was Christopher Franke. I loved the work he did in the B5 series but it just didn't seem as good here. Regardless, it was a great start to what I hope turns into bigger and better future B5 productions!
