what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

What a movie! Being a ardent Hollywood fan I watch all sorts of movies and was amazed how good this movie is be it the storyline, script, action scenes to masteful acting of Vince Vaughan who has shown he could be a terrific in every aspect of his acting.

Vince Vaughn keeps growing as a dramatic actor and excels in the role as a man who is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He does everything right but is surrounded by incompetence and takes out his rage on peoples FACES. Seriously, there is more smashing of people's faces in this movie than any other film I have ever seen. Vaughn doesn't just punch people in the face, he gouges eyes, brakes off noses, and flattens countenances. That being said, if an old grindhouse prison action drama doesn't sound like your thing, your correct and you won't like this movie. But if you are up for a challenge to your expectations, this movie is perfectly made and may just surprise you as a great example of its genre.

Vince Vaughan gives one of the best performances of his career in this film it's just a shame the script wasn't as good. This is a really silly plot However some of the fight scenes are excellent. It's worth watching for Vaughan's performance though.

I can't believe how bad this movie is.... I can't fathom how it got 7.1 here. I like to give movies a chance but...I'm in shock! Terrible acting, ridiculous plot, poorly executed. I'm blown away by the score, how could it get more than a 3 or 4?!. Do not waste your time.
