What a beautiful movie!
i know i wasted 90 mins of my life.
Go in cold, and you're likely to emerge with your blood boiling. This has to be seen to be believed.
View MoreThis movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
View Moreat the beginning of the film, three friends (loving couple and a best friend) come to rest on a ski resort on the last day of the week. they want to go down from the mountain on skis, but the attraction is already closed. They bribe the guard and sit down in the ski lift. The day guard ends and the he is replaces with another who does not know about the students in the ski lift suspended far above ground, isolated, with no one knowing about it(and no way to contact anyone)
View MoreThe actors, crew, special effects people, the writers, animal trainers, all, I think, made a good-faith effort. That being said, the movie is lacking in terms of verisimilitude. I wonder how familiar all were with skiing and cold weather. I had a similar experience. Stupidly, for the last run of the the day I went off-piste (trail). I skied in powder up to my waist, fast, dodging boulders and trees. All of a sudden I did a face-plant and was buried. My left hand broke when my pole strap slapped it back. I was lucky. The highest lift was still running, and, thank God, it was visible through the trees. So I waved my pole, and despite heavy snow, I was rescued. If not, I am certain I would have been dead by morning. I put a spoiler alert as one might infer these kids survived. But all I'm saying is, the movie is not realistic re cold. One character stupidly throws her mitten off. One of the guys has a jacket with a hood and he doesn't use it. And they're trapped on a ski lift with no help expected for five days! The girl who threw the mitten got frostbite of course, but she still gets a good bit of use out of her hand. My wife says to mention that their breath isn't freezing. There's another antagonist in the film, but, as far as I'm concerned, the cold would have been enough if they'd played it right. I have just read other reviews and was astounded at the number of positive reviews. Those writers must never gone skiing, but also are not familiar w/cold. The film is SO unrealistic. Not only does the girl throw off one of her mittens, but she sleeps with her exposed hand on the safety rail--I got the latter from other reviews, but I did mention the stupidity of her throwing her mitten away for no reason. It just bothered me that she almost never put her exposed hand in her pocket! Other reviewers have found other really stupid elements. I originally rated this a five 'cause I'm nice guy. But I've gone down to three. If I weren't nice, I'd give it a one. Any avid skier would find this movie totally unrealistic. Again, I'm AMAZED at the number of good reviews. What were they thinking? If this thing can draw positive reviews, hell, I'm going to make movies!
View MoreTypical horror-type movie where the characters lack thinking. Immediately the first instance of being left alone would spur action in daylight, when it is warmest, not later when cold sets in for frostbite and all the rest. Not to mention freezing to death aboard a ski chair high off the ground. One of male characters should climb to tow cable, make his way to grounded structure (which has ladder steps) on his front side straddling cable. Once on the ground look not for escape but any ready-available weapons to ward off potential animal attacks. Does not matter if safety is a quarter mile. At minimum, this would consume an hour from chair to building safety down below. It amazes me where other people miss my points altogether. What person in this situation when the CAT was below would throw a ski pole or whatever down instead of a snowboard which commands attention immediately? Equally ponderous is why the CAT operator stopped where he did and return to offices instead of completing inspection. And what about the character's own cars in the parking lot? Hello? A sole car after all others have driven off isn't noticeable? Hello? Characters in this movie did everything wrong which one wonders, what were the writers thinking? I thank my lucky stars I did not pay to view this monstrosity. Oh, and of course, didn't anyone have a cell phone?
View MoreFrom all the crappy horror movies I've seen this is the first one I actually enjoyed but not in the intended way . First of all the characters were laughably shitty and made me burst out laughing almost every scene . Secondly it never felt as if the deaths were anything but the characters being completely brain dead . And lastly the wolfs . These wolfs are some of the cutest dogs I've ever seen . If anything a friend of mine has a tiny doggy that's scarier than these wolfs . But surprisingly it was very lovely seeing the wolfs giving kisses and it added to the ironic entertainment since they added shitty effects to make it seem like they were killing the characters while in reality the worse they did was slightly bite their clothes . In conclusion, only watch this movie as an ironic comedy
