Brilliant and touching

RipDelight

This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

Warwick Davis goes back to the LA "Hood" and it's about what you'd expect. As with the previous films, the production value is below average, the story and characters are underdeveloped, and most of the picture relies on Davis' evil grin and diminutive figure wreaking havoc to carry he film. But watching the creepy little leprechaun take out gang members, racist cops, and pretty much anyone who gets in his way actually goes a long way. "Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood" was the sixth and final appearance by Davis and the leprechaun. I'm not sure the series was going to be able to sustain itself much longer, but I will have to admit that Davis inserting himself in a seemingly unconnected genre is pretty darn entertaining, much the same way he did when he went into space (essentially becoming the xenomorph from "Alien"). Who knows, maybe the series could have gone on to further installments by taking the leprechaun into other seemingly unrelated genres (Romantic comedy? Buddy cop film? Post apocalyptic? etc.). But if they insist on another urban drama for a seventh installment, how about placing the leprechaun into a movie where he's the newest teacher at a tough inner city high school? Sadly, this was the last entry in the Leprechaun series to feature Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun before WWE decided to reboot the series with an ill-conceived notion that trying to make a serious scary leprechaun film was a good idea.

This movie is not a great one by any means but I must admit that I found this movie to be still the best one out of the the Leprechaun sequels. It still comes nowhere close to the level of the first movie but it's a good and entertaining one on its own rights nevertheless. This movie has nothing to do with the previous sequel "Leprechaun in the Hood", even though it's being all set in the the hood again. It has totally different characters and follows a different storyline. Its funny how all of the Leprechaun movies basically seem to make all of their own rules. The one time the Leprechaun can shape shift, the other he has great magical powers, the other he has a magic flute. It's all so totally random and disconnected from each other. It really isn't the most consistent movie series out there. All movies are also often quite different in tone and style. Also quality-wise none of the movies are really great ones but at least most of them still deliver some good entertainment. The entire series always has been more comical like than horror anyway. With this movie it's obvious that they went for a more dark tone. Even the Leprechaun's look has changed a bit, to make him look more menacing. It's definitely the darkest movie out of the series, with also some gore in it for a change but luckily they did not make the mistake to take itself very seriously. The movie is still mostly silly, in a good and entertaining sort of way. It's a great movie to have some fun with, even though by no means the movie is a great one.The story once again feels really weak and thin. Can't they come up with something more original? Does it always have to be about the Leprechaun hunting down and killing those who mess with his gold. The movie its story is just mostly being silly and often things just don't make any sense. It also doesn't really feel like a Leprechaun movie, since he only shows up in it after some long pauses with his absence, in between. This is a mistake lots of the Leprechaun movies made. When you have Warwick Davis as an evil and murderous leprechaun you should use him better really. The movies should always be about him, also since we just never get to care about any of the human characters within the movies.Still the best and most entertaining sequel out of the series.5/10http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/

I really don't see all of the fuss with this and the other Leprechaun movies.Sure,it's stupid in some parts, but this is actually a very entertaining horror movie.Well,it's more of a comedy than a horror, but you know what I mean. There is a little bit of gore, especially the part where the leprechaun took out a persons heart, and it was still beeping and pumping blood. That's a goof. The one problem with this movie is that it's full of them. For example, when the leprechaun grabbed a cop's leg,he supposedly tore it off.But in the next shot, his other leg is gone. But to say the least, this is a very entertaining piece of film that fans of the others should enjoy. When is 'Leprechaun 7' coming out?

Well this one does pick up where the first one left off. this one is campy, very funny, got lots of wanna be gangsters,, the lep firing off guns,, lot's of funny moments,, for instance when the Leprechaun steals a cop car and he says,, aww hell,, he looks down realizes he can't reach the gas pedal,, and when he tries to get a date with one of the brother's friends,, he describes himself to the girl on the phone,, the she asks him for his height,, he says 3 ft. 6 , she hangs up..the storyline has to do with a fortune teller who tells the black youths not to give in to the wealth of all the gold that they find,, but of course these teens are dumb, stupid they don't listen, and get caught up in the Leprechauns' schemes once again,, this one i would say is more on the funny side,, not to be taken seriously by anyone really.
