The film tells the story of two good friends who live together, Andrew, an agoraphobic travel agent who works from his home, and Dave, a loser who works in an office where he is treated with contempt. Just when it seems things can't get any worse for the two, the entire world outside of their house disappears and is replaced with an endless white void.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

I'm giving my opinion because I wanted Nothing to be good. I even expected it to be, based on the premises, and on the maker's previous work (I love Cube.) Unfortunately. the original idea quickly turns into an unoriginal comedy reminiscent of the 1930s, relying on a pair of nasty, very unlikeable jerks putting themselves into more and more trouble. As a result, we do want them to disappear, and quick. They are not funny, they are annoying. I can't project myself into the nothing, because everything my 2 proxies do is completely stupid, way more stupid than anything I would do myself (for I actually am a nice guy, when the Moon is not full).I believe the writer should have used the same idea with 2 human beings, instead of 2 caricatures. He could have kept it a comedy, but add some drama to it. He should have done something to make us feel involved, instead of just curious. Otherwise, the movie is technically very good.

I'd give this piece of crap a 0 but I am forced to give it a 1 as it's the lowest permitted. This is a piece of garbage. Worse. A piece of garbage. Worse! All the jerky camera movements made me feel like barfing, not to mention the horrible and ULTRA annoying "acting". The best actor was the damned turtle. The plot? SUCKED! You don't care for the characters. They are retarded. You want them to die. You want this stupid college artsy-fartsy thing to end. You press the "stop" button about 30 minutes in; you at least give it a chance. After returning the rental back to the store you give the clerk an earful and spit on her face. Then you never EVER mention it again; you don't even recommend it to your enemies.

I chanced upon this movie because I had a free non-new release from Blockbuster and needed to grab something quickly, as the store was getting ready to close for the evening. The plain white cover and title intrigued me. I'm a (relatively speaking) "old" lady and my son is a young man of 30. I adore movies that are sheer entertainment, such as The Sixth Sense, Interview With A Vampire, Harry Potter and Beetlejuice. My son, on the other hand, is a film graduate and enjoys very specialized foreign films, such as those directed by Bergman or Hertzog. We generally hate each other's movie choices, HOWEVER, we both watched and LOVED the movie NOTHING! It was unlike any movie we'd ever seen before. We're both cynical/critical personality types and we usually crack on movies while we watch them -- but in this case we just laughed and enjoyed the film from start to finish. It is our opinion that if this movie had been promoted and shown in the main stream theaters in the U.S. it would have done very well indeed.

I thought this was an awesome movie. The theme song is sweet! :) Anyway, the only thing that somewhat bothered me was in the beginning, when everything should have been normal. It was very weird and unrealistic. The big cable company is mainly what I'm talking about. Apart from that, the movie was very creative. I think that all the acting was well done, the actors acted out their characters' personalities perfectly. Everything fit together well. It really is a shame that their isn't a soundtrack. That would have been great! Because this is a Canadian film, and because it is one of my favorites, I give this movie a 10 out of 10!
