Wow! Such a good movie.
SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
View MoreAt first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
View MoreThe thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
View MoreThis is a super documentary and I would recommend it to anyone; and especially to anyone with interest in Southeastern North Carolina and its history! I knew Horace Carter and his family personally and my Mom did some creative advertising for his newspapers and other businesses. I knew some of this story but this movie really hit a home run further informing me. I knew Horace was a hero but I didn't fully understand how much of one he was. I don't think 1 person in a million would have done what he did. The actual violence was scary but it was nothing compared to the mental, social, verbal, economic and similar toll it too on everyone in the area. He is a shining star of courage for his family, Tabor City and everyone else.
