Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
one of my absolute favorites!
Brilliant and touching
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
View MoreI found this DVD set by chance online, read a couple of good reviews and figured I'd take a chance, it didn't take me long into episode one, to realize there are some chances you just shouldn't take ! The narrator, oh my god, what pit of hell did they drag him out of ? And I hope they can get a refund, as he just ruins the entire show, and for me all credibility of it as well. How can I take a paranormal show as at all legitimate, when they use such a cheesy narrator, and let's be honest they could of just gone with Rob, he was OK to 'lead' the team, surely using him should've been a given. If there is a season 2, and I'm betting there won't be, after watching episode one of the first season, for dear god kill the narrator and then go hunt his ghost ;)
View MoreThis is a great new show in the US. The production values are outstanding, far better than most of the paranormal shows. The investigators are credible, well developed, and articulate. The story is interesting, and intriguing. The show avoids the hokey tricks to most paranormal shows, and is interesting as history as well as a search for manifestations of of the spiritual world. After being a fan of Ghost Hunters International, I was disappointed to see that Robb Demarest appears so little in the first episode. While some viewers criticize him for his rigorous standards of observation, I have always had more faith in him. He seems to bring a powerful integrity to the investigation. His long history in the field means that he is less likely to be led astray by stray phenomenon. The explanation of the technology is clear and through. The international character of the team adds depth to the show.I can't wait for next week's episode.
View MoreIt's definitely refreshing to see something from Australia as there is a very rich history here. However, I thought it would be even more brilliant if there were something that included the Australian Indigenous history. There are many sites including the Myall Creek massacre in 1838 which involved 30 and 40 murders of Indigenous people. There's indigenous stories about many strange and fearsome creatures in the bush. Would be cool if they had a look out there and spent some time with Indigenous elders in communities - they will definitely find something out there. In all honesty, I did enjoy the show, however, I love having the mixture of science and physic In the Geelong Goal episode I would've loved to have seen the woman in the cell that would've made some interesting viewing.
View MoreLow production value & terrible casting. It's difficult to believe that these are *highly experienced investigators* when they cry ghost & run at the drop of a hat. I would say that they are a handful of idiots who were willing to do anything to get their faces on television. They used very cheap grainy camera equipment & were obviously grasping at straws when it came to any kind of evidence - More than once, it was obvious that they were staging photos for the sake of needing something to show for their efforts at the end of the episode. The first time, they had the grainy silhouette of the tattooed skinny psychic in a ghost photo. Then the next episode they had the silhouette of the ugly fat bloke, which was given as *evidence* of an apparition manifesting for a photo. Who enjoys this nonsense? Unbelievable.
