Truly Dreadful Film
Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
Brilliant and touching
Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
View MoreStarted off ok in season 1, but went downhill fast. The acting is worse than a school play and whilst the scenery is decent it's always the same shots, London is more than just the Thames and a few bridges.
View MoreI was intrigued to see how the book would convert into a TV series, despite a fair bit of apprehension I must admit to being pleasantly surprised, as has been said it's written along the lines of a comic book, but the production team managed to create a series with a degree of depth, with some great characters and slick production values. It takes a few episodes to get you hooked, but once you buy into Stan Lee's world you get further drawn in. The latter part of both first and second series are the strongest parts for me, where you see all characters pushed to extreme. Nesbitt is brilliant throughout, making Harry a truly likable rogue, Sienna Guillory and Eve Best are great throughout, as is the wonderful Amara Khan, who gets some great stories.A very enjoyable watch. Lucky Man, Lucky viewers. 8/10
View MoreAre not yet in an era where women can compete with men on a level playing field? I guess not. I guess they still need special privileges and advantages--at least that is the message @sky1 is sending with acquiring Supergirl but still having yet to renew #Luckyman, a series rated nearly an entire point higher by fans on the IMDb. And worse, considering putting Supergirl into Luckyman's timeslot in spite of it's failure to perform on the unbiased audience of the Internet Movie Database when the two shows are ranked against each other. But network ratings suggest otherwise... so the question is: are network ratings reliable, or falsified? The internet doesn't lie, but investors have proved they often do for the sake of profit.Tell sky1 how you feel about their sexist move to jeopardize the future of a great series like #Luckyman just because #Supergirl features a female protagonist instead of a male. Is this 1950 and rehashed sexism offering role reversal, or is it 2017 where equality exists? If she can't compete, then she doesn't compare. #RenewLuckyman
View MoreI'm not the best reviewer, but I felt compelled to write a bit about how much I am enjoying this series. James Nesbitt really is one of the UK's finest small screen actors and he is doing a very good job of this too as are most of the other cast. What I really love about this show is that it is a very good crime/detective series as well as being a supernatural/hero show (in fact almost elements of anti-hero with the mess Nesbitt's charters life is in). I have really enjoyed the second series as much, if not even a bit more than the first and hope it runs for several more seasons.
