    Sadly Over-hyped

    Keira Brennan

The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film

I did enjoy season one but never hooked me. Slowly I started to get into season 2, which after episode 3 really got me. Action packed and lots of cliff hangers, I started to love this show. Can't wait for season 3! This show deserves more fame!

One of the most up to date and relevant dramas I've binge watched in recent times, it starts off in explosive, dramatic, hard hitting style, and continues through the series. It's super relevant with all the recent news surrounding Bitcoin, and it certainly does make you wonder how a 'different' currency can actually work, the concept is outrageous to many of us, this drama helps to bring the concept to life. Miami serves as an intriguing backdrop, it conjures up beautiful beaches and sun, but of course the reality is a different matter. Great acting all round, Edi Gathegi, Martin Freeman, Adam Brody and Otmara Marrero all shine in particular. It's hard hitting, sometimes violent, but the violence is delivered with a sense of reality, it isn't needless or done to be sensationalist, just shown in a real way. As a drama it absorbs you, and makes you want to watch just one more episode.

I was randomly checking out what series were available on Amazon Prime when I noticed the title Startup. I did not expect much, and certainly not a documentary about how startups are born and evolve. The first episode seemed to open a perspective on different classes of criminals in Miami, so I figured it would be a series about competing gangs. But there was indeed a biz and tech twist to the story, with a struggling genius called Izzy, trying to market her product to banks and other investors. I went on to episode 2, interested to see how a cryptocurrency competing with Bitcoin might take off in such circumstances and from then on, the plot evolved in a way that had me hooked so much that I just went binge watching it for hours over a long weekend! The effort to market Gencoin lands Cuban born Izzy, Isabel Morales, in deeper trouble than she could have dreamed, but gains her two unlikely friends: Nick Talman, estranged son of a shady character who is tryinf to escape with 2 million dollars, some of it belonging to a Haitian thug, Ronald Dacey, but the money is also coveted by an FBI investigator, Phil Rask, and the cryptocurrency is also of interest to an apparently respectable firm, The story has several communities and gangs involved in the race to win the tech war, and the way it evolves keeps the interest going. As the series goes on through Season 1 and 2, the ties grow between the three people who had just started out as "business partners" because they needed to get money. Danger and setbacks keep getting in their way, including murder, slander and worse mayhem. But they keep up, doggedly, even after all hope seems lost. There are lots of surprises on the way, sometimes expected, sometimes less so. Series2 Episode 10 ends in a way which could signal the end of the story, despite a few unresolved issues for Nick, the young white ex-banker and Wes, the investor, for Ronald and for Izzy too, although we could envision what they would do after the End title is on screen. , Agent Rask seems to have successfully avoided trouble for himself, but is that for sure? I am happy to read that a third installment of the series has been approved in November and that I will be able to get back to watch it in the future. In fact it was both a gripping story with likeable characters, although the series is not for kids, because of violence, profanity and sexuality, but these parts are justified in the context, and do not take up excessive time within the story, so they did not deter me from enjoying the plot. The way the characters deal with loss of loved ones, of their life work, of their reputation and how they rebound, is also important to the story. All in all, I warmly recommend this series to a mature audience and definitely will watch Series when it appears on Amazon Prime or on television.

Oh man, where do I begin ? It is going to be difficult to try to describe a show that is so ineffable but I'm going to try.... I'm so very appalled that this TV series is only rated 8.1 on IMDb. This masterpiece deserves at least a 9. It is so well done and leaves you held in aesthetic arrest. The build up to the various climaxes induces full on catharsis. If you're into Fargo, game of thrones, true detectives, and breaking bad then this is your kind of show.
