Wonderfully offbeat film!
Too much of everything
A Disappointing Continuation
I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
View MoreThe film has the look and feel of a video game. It moves too quickly at times, as if being advanced to the next level of a game. It sometimes feel they neglect showing crucial events. It was pretty much the Russian version of 'Fantastic Four'. This ambitious project has some really excellent effects and great moments, but overall it was just not compelling enough.
View MoreI don't think any movie has ever elicited more pure childish happiness in me. I watched this movie by myself, and was dying laughing. I screamed out loud several times "HE'S A BEAR!!" followed by "AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" It's just so much fun. The movies doesn't take it self seriously, and neither should the audience. The end was super anticlimactic, but just because there is a bear with a gattling gun, it deserves 10 stars. Probably the most Russian (and metal) thing I have ever seen.
View MoreThe actions and visuals are great. Probably the only good things about this movie. The order of events are wrong. The characters are super dumb. Training arc near the end of the movie. Khan (Speedster) can cut the cable/pipe holding the transmitter tower easily yet didn't. Also, fighting Kuratov, Khan was depowered with no reason. Forced dumb backstories. Crappy dialog. Lack of BGM. So yea, the rating 4 is true. The visual effects team was truly wasted in this movie.
View MoreThis was actually based on a Marvel series of comics call the Soviet Super-Soldiers. Urusa Major the were-bear was in the comics. The other characters in the movie were hybrids of several of the comic character. In order to claim you have seen every Marvel movie, you must see this one.
