I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
View MoreIt is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
View MoreThere's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
View MoreBy the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
View MoreA former thief frantically searches for his missing daughter, who has been kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a taxi. Simon West from time to time makes some cool movies such as Con-Air, The Expendables 2 and The Mechanic and the other half of times he makes something like Stolen a film so muddled, boring and laughably bad that it's so pathetic. Josh Lucas as the villain was so freaking bad that looked like a half of robocop meets I' Robot and Cage was his typical self when he doesn't try to give a good and respectful perfomance such as Seeking Justice which was released just a year before this movie did. Definitely a really boring, muddled and disappointing action vehicle. (0/10)
View MoreHe's the Red Hot Chilli Peppers of movies. He made that good movie 20 years ago and just keeps making the same thing over and over. But hey as long as people keep listening to that one song about California repackaged a million times they'll keep watching that Nick Cage movie set in NOLA with cops and robbers and daddy issues. I know he's broke and owes the IRS a zillion dollars but honestly doesn't this start to look like a money laundering scheme at some point? How many movies that lose money can you make to make money? Anyway, so what? Someday someone will package all the Nick Cage movies into a DVD set called 'The Nick Cage Movies'.
View MoreIt does what it needs to do. It's a Nic Cage actioner where he has to save his daughter from a psychopathic villain who used to be his best friend. That's all you need to know. All that's left is to shut off your brain and try to have fun with it. Nicolas Cage does what you'd expect from him, and if you're a fan of that, then the odds are that you'll get a kick out of him. Josh Lucas really steals the show as the main baddie and Danny Huston does a fine job with his supporting role. All in all, a fun flick to kill a night at the end of a long day with. Go in expecting little more than that and you'll probably leave pleased.
View MoreYou've seen "Stolen" more times than you want to count. This time it stars Nicholas Cage and Josh Lucas. After being caught robbing a bank, Will Montgomery spends eight years in the slammer before being released on parole. He and his gang successfully robbed the bank, but as they're running for the getaway car, Will and one of his partners, Vincent, get into a fight after a janitor spots them. Vincent wants to kill him, and Will says no. As they're fighting, the police are crowding in, so the getaway truck takes off. Vincent is shot. Will takes off. Finally cornered, he takes the $10 million he stole and throws it into a trash can that's on fire. Now that he's out, the police are watching him because they're sure he's got the money. There's someone else who's sure he's got the money -- and he'll move heaven and earth or go the kidnapping route to get it.Lots of car chases and dazzling stunt driving in this short film, with good performances by Cage and Josh Lucas, whom I so liked in the TV series "The Firm." There's just not an awful lot to the film -- it's done by the numbers, but still manages to entertain. A good rental.
