The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Thor: The Boring world is one of the most boring movies i saw back then in 2013 and thankfully Thor Ragnarok was better than all 2 previous Thor Movies but as what i saw was that these thor movies tried to be serious and my ideal Thor Dark world movie would be like this The effects look OK like i dont realy like these summer blockbusters with CGI that much and costumes look ok and technicaly it was OK but what ruins it is average acting. Best character in the movie was Loki for me. Thor would be too but most of the scenes where hes enjoyable to watch is when hes with Loki rest of the movie is boring love story and Generic Villain and exposition nothing else till the fight. I actualy feell asleep 2 times watching the movie so thats something.Overall this movie i could recommend to marvel fanboys or people who like these dumb movies with overloadness of CGI and crap.

Thor: The Dark World follows Thor, Son of Odin, after the events of The Avengers with the tension between his brother and him still tense and a new issue caused by family a long time ago affecting his current life with his love and the world he has grown to love too. Alan Taylor does a very good job directing. Improving on the first film with its overuse of dutch angles and keeping the filmmaking more simplistic and stylistic. The best part of the film is the action scenes are very well filmed and beautifully designed with special effects, great direction, and fantastic acting. This is though not Taylor's best film in his career and it sadly is the weakest Thor film in the now trilogy with a lot of issues from the script and some questionable acting choices as well that could come from Taylor or the casting director. Getting to the writing, it feels like each act in the film is written by a completely different person and has a few times that I felt like I was watching a different film completely with each act change. The script portrays the main antagonist as this one sided generic villain that has just one job and it is to destroy the universe, heard of that one before?, yeah me too. And especially with Iron Man 3 having a very rich villain, it falls short on the writing. Besides that the characters written are all good. But I do feel like they were trying to cram in as much as they can into this film which was completely unnecessary for this aftermath film. Then the tone change, with it going from extremely dark and serious scenes to awkward comedy doesn't transfer well at all in this film and honestly doesn't feel like a Marvel film when rewatching it. The acting is overall amazing. Hemsworth drastically improved in this stand alone film compared to the first in his acting. Hiddleston is once again amazing as the god of tricks and his manipulation and use of great plan developing to get what he needs. Even minor characters like Thor's warriors and his mom and dad all are so much stronger than the first film and have a lot more useful parts and more defining roles than the first film which is nice. But the main villain once again comes off bad compared to the rest of the film. It could've been from the prosthetics but his acting comes off so bland and feels like his voice is one of those computer text-to-speech things. But one character compared to an ensemble of amazing actors can be forgotten. With a huge issue of storytelling and a single character that could've been better written and acted. It falls short on its potential as the sequel. Thor: The Dark World gets a 6/10

They did a pretty good job with this but the first Thor was better. This has superb eye candy, a great cast, outstanding FX, excellent action AND they bring the funny, just not a lot of it and it's not quite up to snuff. In one scene Odin comes off as more of a dick than it seems like he would but since it's used as the setup for some light comedic relief it's tolerable. It could have been better but I can still watch it yearly.

2013's follow-up to the Chris Hemsworth-starring Marvel film 'Thor' is one that didn't excite audiences the way other films in the genre have, and has become somewhat overlooked in the studio's library. It's true - 'Thor: The Dark World' was more or less a "bridge" movie to get from the bigger hit that was 'Iron Man 3' to the superior 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier,' but it served its purpose. At the center of 'Dark World' is an ancient force called the Aether that takes hold of Thor's love interest Dr. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). What ensues is a multidimensional cat-and-mouse chase in a race to save Jane and put an end to the destructive plans of an evil elf named Malekith (Christopher Eccleston). So, pretty standard plot for a superhero movie, and much less interesting than the previous film's plot. While the 'Thor' franchise boasts some memorable characters who have good resumes, including Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Odin (Anthony Hopkins), Eric (Stellan Skarsgård) and Darcy (Kat Dennings), their performances in this sequel feel just like a continuation of the first movie - nothing new or special. This applies to the dialogue, as well - it's well written considering the genre, with enough cheekiness and wit to go around, but again, it's same old, same old.As per usual, the special effects are great. The world of Asgard comes to life through the CGI, as do the barren lands of "the dark world" (which was aptly filmed in Iceland). But other than these elements, the film is fairly forgettable.'Thor: The Dark World' was a necessary entry in the Marvel film universe, and should be seen as a "cross off the list" kind of movie, but it's not near the top of the list when it comes to quality.
