The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

View MoreJust intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

As a huge TV junkie I can say without any doubt that this is still by FAR. My favorite show of all times!!! I love Lost, Fringe, Stranger things, Westworld, etc but this still holds special spot in my heart! And honestly not only it holds special place in my heart but it also BREAKS IT!!! I've been dying to see all new episodes, to find out all those secrets... Everything behind the company... Everything that Angela Petrelli was hiding.. 7th wonders,... To see Peters powers back and to see him shining , to reveal that He really Is the Chosen One!!! Why did you take this away from me??? :( I never saw that Peter vs Sylar fight from the future.. And I've been waiting for it from the 1st episode.. So many secrets and you just canceled it???You will NEVER EVER know how much it meant to me! I was literally crying over it!! And then you give us Heroes Reborn.. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDEN ME????? L o L !!!!
View MoreHonestly the only thing that wasn't so good about this show apart from a lack of comic relief when Hiro and Ando weren't around, was that there wasn't a defined story arc or villain for each season, and that made each season less conclusive and would have caused a lot of people to lose interest despite liking the characters and the narrative. You just lose a bit of investment when you don't have closure at the right times. In this way season 4 is actually the best season next to season 1 because it has an interesting villain that comes in at the start of the season and remains to the end of the season. AND we empathise with Samuel while still wanting him to be stopped. It was also kind of sad when interesting characters weren't around for very long, but didn't actually die. It was similar to Buffy in giving these kind of epic, unexpected deaths, like Issac, and that kleptomaniac chick in season 1 who I forgot the name of. And then the really drawn out, confusing-in-a-good-way death of Nathan. But then there were all these characters who left without dying, or with any closure really. And that kind of thing just makes you automatically think 'are they gonna show up again?', 'what's the deal with that dude?' A lot of other shows do that in a much worse way though- at least in Heroes, it actually made sense and the narrative was interesting enough that it was easy to move on from those other characters.
View MoreEven casual readers of this blog will know that I hate superheroes, so why then did I watch the series Heroes? The truth is that I put it off for a long time, until I unlocked it's secret. They aren't really superheroes and the special abilities that some of the characters posses is only a small part of the story. All around the country, ordinary people are discovering that they have remarkable abilities. Some see these abilities as the next natural step in human evolution, other see these people as a threat. The show begins with one group trying to understand their abilities and how to use them for good. A second group is trying to exploit there abilities for personal gain, while the third works for a group known as the company, which is trying to contain the whole situation. From a TV standpoint, this show was really innovative with special effects and a large cast of future stars, but there in lied the problem. The show was so expensive to produce that by the fourth season, when the ratings started to fall off, the show was cancelled. However, thanks to streaming services like Netflix, the die-hard fans were able to prove their love for the show, and six years later, NBC has brought it back for a fifth season, which will supposedly tie up the loose ends from the season four cliffhanger. The show is continuous and the multiple story lines are vast, so I won't go into them, but I will mention a few stand outs from the cast. Heroes launched the career of Zachary Quinto, who played the villain Syler. Syler has the power to absorb others abilities and become the most powerful of them all, only he is unable to focus leading him in many directions. Sometimes he's helpful, other times he has plans of world domination, and occasionally he just wants to know where he came from. Syler is the deepest, most interesting character of them all, going through a range of emotion and a love/hate relationship with the audience. The ability to portray such a complex character has led Quinto to superstardom and rightfully so.Next is Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, the master of space and time. The Hiro character not only added a lot of much needed levity to the show, but also introduced writers to all kinds of possibilities, such as time travel and alternate histories. To me, these were some of the best story arks they had and it's all the more fun, when the guy leading the charge is hilarious. Finally is Hayden Panettiere, as Clare Bennett, the cheerleader who can not be hurt. She's the character that most fans can relate to, because she's just a teenage girl caught between the factions. All she wants is a normal life, but can someone that can heal themselves ever truly be normal? Heroes was terrific science fiction, which covered more story lines and topics in four years, then some shows have covered in twenty. The characters are always changing and the story is continuous, so don't skip episodes. There are constantly changing roles and relationships, which kept the series fresh, moving, and always entertaining. Even if you didn't like one of the story arks, there were still a half dozen more going on at the same time. Heroes is some of the best science fiction you will ever see on TV, it's just a shame that it only lasted four seasons. It is a perfect example of the networks continuing desire to go with cost over quality.
View MoreSeason one was awesome, albeit a bit slow in introducing the characters. They could have taken this show in so many better directions then the direction they did. The premise of the show is that they have the ability to save the world, yet in every episode, it is nothing more than a altruistic, self-centered hodge lodge of adventures by only the "heroes" themselves. Nowhere does any of the "regular" people ever come into the show with the exception of when one hero might blow up and level a city. Again just another selfish struggle of one of the heroes, and nothing to do with using their powers for the good of society, or to help those in need, which is the premise of any real superhero's existence. NBC's writers really dropped the ball on this show, and it is no wonder why their ratings have waned as the seasons progressed. The only reason I suffered through the 4 seasons is because it was on Netflix. Had I had to watch it on network TV, I would have stopped after halfway through the second season. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this show, unless you are one of those types that likes to torture yourself and repeatedly get kicked in the balls, then by all means binge watch it on Netflix!
