Oh dear. After the success of Sons Of Anarchy, Kurt Sutter should have taken a break and come up with something much better than this tripe, but it seems he tried too hard to be 'edgy' and didn't bother with an actual storyline or interesting characters. This could have been good, but sadly, there is only so far the story could go. Knight retires and lives quiet life with family. Family gets killed. Knight becomes travelling executioner... And that's about it. Barstard Executioner is just dire. Dull predictable plot, lazy script, weak characters with no depth, and just relies way too much on silly & unnecessary OTT gore to make up for the boring storyline. There's a reason it got cancelled after one season - yes, it really is that bad.

garbage ,,was so looking forward to watching this ,it turned out to be one of the worst TV shows ever ,,the acting was so bad ,maybe it was just miscast ,the costumes could have been thrown together from a B movie ,the story line was nonsense ,,this will set back Kurt Sutter , Katy Segals awful the terrible script did not help her ,,the main character was just so wooden a plank of wood could have done a better job,it is no wonder this show has been cancelled ,I was a great fan of sons of anarchy ,and I thought the same kind of professional script and acting would be the same in this show but it was so disappointing come on Kurt Sutter your much better than this drivel ,,at least give us a cast that can act and a storyline that grips .

This is my 1st review, but I felt that I needed to let y'all know that The Bastard Executioner is absolutely WORTH getting lost in Sutter's new World. It took me, maybe, 1 to 2 episodes before I understood what exact story was trying to be told; and it is absolutely incredible. GIVE IT A CHANCE!! If you still disagree past episode 3, I'll give you a pass. Don't over think the language and get lost in all the accents, they become fluid and even beautiful as you go on. You fond yourself carrying for the unlikely hero and if you are a fan of the medieval, knights, Kings and the everyday goings on of this World, this show IS for you. Trust me... GIVE IT A CHANCE!!

Even if you do not know history of Wales or England, this series can offer you an insight into everyday struggle and life what it must have been in the 14th Century! Excellent actor portrayals, played with utmost heart. The lengths this production has gone through to make every detail look authentic to people like me, who sometimes notice minute details, that sometimes make movies or TV shows just loose that something, when you notice items out of place or continuation lacking, well this show takes my high marks for paying attention to even smallest details, that made watching so much more enjoyable! Add mythology woven in, which grips and makes you wonder, what if?...and you have an excellent experience of being drawn into a world of knights, barons, earls and simple folk! Love and passion is there too! Great show for the lovers of intrigue and storytelling!
